G'day Gang

I work for an advertising agency based in Australia and will be in Canada in mid June to shoot a TV commercial for an extremely well-known global food company.

To make the ad we take cameras to a location with a high concentration of our target market (aspirational 20 somethings), and get them to eat the prodcut and tell us whay they think of it on camera by answering a range of questions. Typically, the most exhuberant, over the top responses are the ones that don't end up on the cutting room floor.

These "Vox Pop" interviews are interspersed with action footage.

Tomorrow I am pitching a concept to our client which involves shooting the ad at Whistler. We'd do our interviews with riders at the base of the main chairlift and then, obviously shoot some action on the mountain.

We're looking at shooting on a Saturday in mid-June. I have two questions.
1. Roughly how many people would we be likely to find milling around the main village and also in the main lift-line?
2. Would annyone here be interested in appearing in such an ad, either as a rider or someboy we interview?

Either relpy here or PM me...

whistler has the most mountain bikers in one place I've ever seen, so you might be in luck. Lots of crazy ones too

Not only will it be perfect for the commercial, your company will pay you to come to whistler (right?). That's a good 2birds/1stone. Good on ya! :grinno:

People watching the commerical might think that everywhere in BC has such a high concentration of Super High End bikes, but it's not true! They just seem to all hang out in Whistler. It'd be like going to Monaco and seeing all the sweet cars there.

I think your company would do well here. Tonnes of action at the base...bars, bikers, tourists taking it all in...it's a busy, good scene.

oh you poor, poor thing. I'm playing the world's smallest violin. Have a good time in Whisss-la if you get the gig. Be sure to look for the Patrolskid, he's very photogenic and as knowledgeable of the Whistler scene as just about anybody could be. Bonne chance.
