Right now i have 24 inch Hookworms on my ht, but they weigh a ton and i want to try and lighten the bike up a bit. Im prob gonna sell the hookworms to a friend and buy some Arrow Launches, but i dont know much about them. I know Kenda K-Rads are as light as air, but because they are piddly ass things, so how do the Launches compare to them? Advance thanks.

DMR Moto is the cats pajama's I ram hookworms 26 inches ansd dropped 2.2 pounds by switching to the Moto's. The tread patterns the same as K-rad but the rubber compound is much better. Price was good too.

200g less-ish
the compound is soft even on the regular, as opposed to the super tacky version, so glass does get through. The wear is nice, and their broken in condition is fairly nice. A pity the cool texturing of the brand new tyre doesn't stick around on the centre section.
If you aren't riding dirt a heck of a lot two of the better options are the IRC Loversoul and the Kenda Flame <- that shit rides amazingly smooth, but then again it's a bit of a boat anchor, while the IRC is fairly light, another 200g off the launch if I recall, tread is a copy of vans' waffle sole.

if you ride 24" and really want to save lots of weight though and do ride a bunch of trail there's the primo dirt monster at 510g!!!!
That's 200g lighter than the loverssoul(26"only so far - 750g), which is 100g lighter than the Launch (850) which is 150g lighter than the hookworm @ 1kg in 24" and 1 1/4kg in a 26".
the launches ride really nice....the kenda k-rads are really flimsy and as far as I have heard the hookworms arent very good quality either

HOOK WORMS were heavy during the DH casing phase.. now they are not I have one right beside me and its not that heavy. but in dirt it SUCKS 100% ass.

ahhhh gotcha, didnt knwo they had dh casing before.......
The Arrow Launches are solid tires. Decent grip in the dirt too. They aren't that light so you won't drop that much weight going from a Hookworm to a Launch.
I think Kenda makes a lighter casing tire called the K-rad. You'll probably have to compensate the skinny side wall with 60psi in your tubes.

i just realised nobody has mentioned how far you can lean over on the launch, it grips pretty darn good at high lean angles. BTW they seem to be temperature sensitive(amazing grip on hot surfaces, not so good on cold) and will hold moisture for a long time, my guess is that it is due to the soft compound. They are very predictable in snow, which is nice.

k-rads have thin sidewalls, so they're lighter, yet weaker. and they're cheap. $40 new for the set.

Follow up report:
I sold my hookworms the other day, and i got my Launches today along with some
1 3/8 tubes (man they are piddly). First off i definatly noticed a difference in wieght, i had no scale, but i definatly dropped a pound or two. During my "ride around the driveway" test it seemed like they accelerated, and rolled faster than the hookworms, but maybe its just me. Also, my bike seems much more, uh, "flickable". I tried doing some fkat ground abubacas and it just seemed easier to maneuover the bike. As of now i am very impressed, and i cant wait to give them a real workout.
