Has anyone gapped over it?
I always think about it when i come into it. it isnt a very big gap but i dont know how far past the tranny you would land and what the impact would be like.
If anyone has done it, what did you think?

It'd be sketchy, because it'd be a blind gap I think.
I'm interested to see if anyone's done it too, and if they have, what it is like.

I've seen it done, but I don't think that people do it much because you really have to pin the landing to get enough of a tranny.

I did it once a couple seasons ago, semi unintentially, I was following grant allen and he was railing, before I knew it I had gapped it and then proceeded to overshoot the next corner and crashed while laughing at myself for doing it....I've been a sissy ever since....but then again, they built that nice launcher down into that gap and that's badass to go far on, so I usually do that...

Its been done alot of times. Its not hard to do, its hard to do smooth.

Thanks guys. sounds pretty good. I think it would be sweet if they rebuilt the tranny on that farther out, something like they have done with the A-line rock drop. I was tranning Kyle Mclaws last year and he nose manualed the whole rock. it was a pretty sick line.

Its definitely worth giving a try, and not that hard to get right. Although last time I gaped it I had too much of that speed stuff and sailed past the tranny landing flat and collapsing my rear wheel, broke 30 out of 32 spokes. But that wont happen to you.

I did it once, purely by mistake. I actually tapped my rear wheel on the way down but the Turner bailed me out

I'd like to try the big drop off the rock - like not left, not right but onto the top of the rock and drop to the right

Thats a good one. You can also hit it lower down and do a little wall ride off

I've done it many times. And I will never do it again. If you gap that rock, you do not land on the tranny at all if you have any speed. It is a VERY hard landing.
In 2001, I ate it after gapping the rock too far right. Bike caught up in branches and I sailed over bars. Broke my scaphoid. Very painful. Very slow healing.

My friend gap it his first day up on his kona stuff last year as I was following him down. Looked smooth untill the landing when he rammed his brakes on.

Seen kids gapping it a couple of years ago, but it was sketchy. I know that the same kids aren't doing it anymore. It can buck you. Saw Richie eat it on that one too.
Gapped it back a couple of years ago, kinda by mistake. Back then the tranny was higher and the rest of the landing before the corner was really smooth, gave you a bit more room for error. Never had the guts to try it again, the landing is too rutted for me these days.

i think its not to bad when i was up there last year i had been doing that gap lots and it was pritty smooth if u slow it down and pop off the little bump off the right then it is easy to lad on the top of the tranny. But i dont recomend doing it at the end of the year because it tends to get some pritty nasty ruts in the landing and i have almost gone down hitting one of the ruts wrong so be carful. I persaly dont recomend it, i would rather hit the bigger rock drop.
