The Summer Edge is about the price of a day lift, includes your first day, then after that is about 25% off per day. It's valid the entire season.

For a kid it's $39 to buy I think then each day is $29.

You have to sign the placemat sized waiver, parents too, and it's also good to get a credit card link set up. With it you never have to buy a ticket from the window, on the first scan on the pass each day they bill the CC. Also can work for food from W/B places.

You are reading about Winter EDGE, where you can buy them including one day or five days.

The BroCard doesn't get Whis lift discounts anymore. But it will get you $10 off the $50 Edge card. And then the Edge card gets you like $10 off a lift ticket. So you gotta go 8 times or so to break even if you get the BroCard and Edge card, or 5 times if you just buy the Edge card. Simple eh?

If you don't think you'll ride Whistler enough to make a pass pay off, but will ride more than once, buy an edge card. It is basically a frequent-biker card, and the more you bike, the more you'll save. Instead of paying money up front and then riding for free (for a pass), with an edge card you pay per day. When you buy an edge card, it includes your first day of riding and then every day after that you'll pay less than if you bought tickets from the ticket window.

The bottom line:
- if you're going to ride 8+ times: buy a pass
- if you're going to ride 1-7 times: buy an edge card

If you have a brocard and want to buy an edge card, you can save some money. If you want to buy an edge card and you don't have a bro card yet, it isn't worth buying the bro card simply to get a deal on an edge card.

They are trying to push most of the riders to the Edge card because of the waiver that needs to be signed each time a lift ticket is purchased. If you get the Edge card then the waiver is signed once and does not need to be signed again. That's why the discount is on the Edge card and not the daily lift ticket.

They are also looking at connecting the summer Edge Card to the winter as well.

I'd hazard a guess that because of the BC or Washington limitation they can raise the prices for the tourists who will go to Whistler because they have the hotels and become more competitive with Cypress, which the people that drive to Whistler for the day will pass.

Also having a picture on the pass eliminates clipping and more frequently, bike pass-offs with ticket on. Most likely the BC'ers too, heading home at 3.

do you mean day passes or seasons? I have to get my seasons still, and just got my bro card for that purpose.

Whistler

1)$50 off a seasons pass (must be purchased before June 30th 2005)
2) A Whistler Edge Card for $31 (a regular lift ticket is $41) which includes your first day and then saves you $10 every day of the season. Without the BroCard the Edge Card will cost you $39.
*you can only use the card for ONE of these deals not both.

you can always go visit chris quinlan at Behind The Grind, beside fanatyk co, and get a WORCA membership, that'll still get you your seasons pass discount of $50....

Edge Cards can be hooked up to a credit card too.

So...you buy an Edge card.

Every time you visit the mountain, you just get it scanned at the bottom, and your CC is automatically charged. Makes spending easy, if nothing else.

But you also pay 30-something dollars a day with it, instead of the regular 40-something.

I think it's a good idea.

Plus...you don't have to sign the 4 page waiver each time. I opted for the direct-bill credit card option too. I think it's a good idea.

i agree with the first part but I think if you're going less than 4 or 5 times, its cheaper to just buy day tix

Edge card only costs time. It's cost offsets the first day which you get free.

Unfortunately...no.

Why is everyone here so confused about the edge card? Granted, it's new this year for biking, but it shouldn't be this hard to understand. If you're going to be riding more than once this season, than you shouldn't be buying day tickets each time. You should be buying either a season pass or an edge card. End of story.
