I'm looking for an XC ride relatively close to Whistler that's not a death march, not River Runs Through It, and not black diamond.

Out and back or loop is fine, but it's got to be about a blue-level ride.

Thanks.

I haven't ridden anything up there but the park. I stumbled across that site today looking for directions to A River Runs Through It. Seemed like something you could use so I passed it along.

Stu - you want more then one loop? Try Cheakamus river trails too; and Trainwreck and Trash. Thats closer to Function. You can do Big Timber and Tunnel Vision too if you get more adventurous.

Closer to Nesters try the Cut Yer Bars stuff.

There's tons of fun stuff in Emerald too.

That should get you started. Most of the rest is ride up then ride down variety.

Cut yer bars is great. Also look at emerald forest (its not in emerald) its the trails that are to the right of the fireroad going toward entrance one of River. Pretty flowy and nothing too tech in there. Good fun :)

Sproat Flank trail from Alpine to the cemetary or Function is good too.

Industrial Dissease is one of my favorites. Good climb and a great descent. Start from behind Millar Creek Cafe in Function. The loop will bring you back there if you want.

Thanks, everybody. The girlfriend is looking for an alternative to the park if it's raining, and it looks like there are lots.

What about kill me thrill me, its a pretty good xc course. park at the bottom of cougar mountain, and ride down teh road to teh corner, around 500ft, and right before the barricade on the side of the rode you'll see a trail going off to the left, take that one and ride on...

That's a good one...the rock face under the powerlines will be pretty fun in the rain I imagine!
