I'm an average rider looking to progress my jumping skills.

Are there any specific coaches/classes that y'all would recommend?

I'm looking to spend anywhere from 1-3 days.

I think worca offers some freeride camps throughout the summer and one of those is a trip down a-line to teach how to jump.

The best options at Whistler are take a private and let them know you want to do jumping or if you have 2-3 days take a Schley camp.

Gravity camps are great but they are 5 days long.

The bike park offers how - to - jump one day clinics. If you're lucky you'll get taught by Mike Johnstone.

I would get a 6 hour private lesson from whistler. you can schedule it at the reservations center next to the glc and the bike shop. request jerome, I had him last year. great guy. he'll bring you up to the top of the gondola and you bike down to the top of garbanzo through the snow!

they definitely teach how to jump. one of the private coaches is brent floyd, one of the best freeriders in whistler. in fact, that's what I had them teach me last year, jumping.

Thanks for all the responses. I might bite the bullet and get a private instructor. The Ritchie Schley camp seems quite appealing.

There is a Richie Schley camp on June 4,5 and both Brent and Mike coach those or you could end up with Richie. Highly recomended. You will learn more in 2 days than in 1 day private. Go for that if you have the time.

If you still have the papers for the camp, bring it up and will honour it. Don't miss out. Ask for Mike Johnstone.

I would highly recommend a day or two with Shaums March. He lives in Squamish and runs camps/clinics on a regular basis. You can check out dates on his web site.........http://www.madmarchracing.com (http://www.madmarchracing.com/)

Best of luck.

I think an appointment with Mike Johnston sp? is in order. I think I'll wait for the weather to be a little more consistent before booking.

I did this guieded tour thing that I won from the BC Highschool thing. It was pretty sweet I think the guy was supposed to guide/show us some new skills, but he didn't seem to give any pointers to me. But thats beside the fact b/c only really asked him what i could do better. but if you wanted you could get more advise from him. Anyways this was a whistler-blackcomb guide/instructor, he was pretty good, I think you can get more info on their site or at guest services.

Id agree with that although i have never taken the classes they offer i have ridden with the guy that runs it and he is a very cool person. Its incredible to see the improvement of his students in just a few short lessons.
