Watch the Golden Cycling Club Website like a hawk...cause there is only 100 spots open to the public. 50 spaces go to Redbull, so who ever they select, then 50 to the local Golden Cycling club, then 100 open spots.
13:47 is the new record...or something like that. Old record was held by Jason Christianson at 14:41 for a few years.

Oh man I am Stoked to race this one!

Big names cause Winner takes home 5g's...10g's in prize money total...I'm betting most of the World Cuper's/Norba folk that can fit it into there schedule and get a spot will be in attendance. Too bad it is the same time as the Apex Mtn Bc Cup...

That's kind of too bad IMO. This was a fun, samll, grass roots kind of race and now half the race entries are not available to local riders.

So much for a roots-type cycling event with rumors of a $10k purse and corporate sponsorship....

I know the Golden Cycling Club is trying to keep the "roots" feel for all of there members, hence the reason why they have 50 spots. But ya I agree this was the most fun race of the year because of the "feel" to it. Although I enjoyed racing Canada Cups, BC cups & Crankwerx races, last years Psychosis was still the most fun I had...maybe it's the HUGE beer garden that I had fun at...I can't remember...ha ha.

At least REDBULL is sponsoring an event in Canada...especially in Golden, cause it sure is a FUN town! Regardless, I'm still stoked to check this one out.

From the Mt. 7 Race Director

Grass roots is what we base our Club on in Golden and yes, we took the decision to have a larger sponsor than in the past this year. Red Bull is working with us because this is a grass roots event. They are not taking over, they are helping out!

You should know that just because there is a title sponsor this year not much will change other than the amount of cash purse for the top categories. All categories still exist and the 5K race gets its own day. We also have an even younger age group for kids and more prizes and better care for everybody, Athletes and volunteers alike!

This also helps our cycling community lots by allowing us to put more into our local resources and trail networks since the expenses of this one event are shared. We end up with a great event and a greater season of riding in Golden.

I hope this helps with your concerns, and rest assured, this is a Golden Cycling Club event and will be run as it always has. For good times!

I hope to see you and your buddies here this year having a good time.
