Figured I'd start something different. There are some sweetly steep lines up on that hill and all are fun to me if not really scary too. I really like the steep rough rock slide on Upper Joyride, before the creek gap. Goats Gully is pretty retarded, always hard to stay upright through there. The whole bottom of National Course from the rock roll to step up to the wood on Clown Shoes, try to see how fast you can pin it through there. What's everyone ridin cept for Aline and DM?

I love hornet, in the trees, let go of the brakes and just giver in that tight little section, people at whistler got to learn to get off the brakes and let the suspension do the work.

Upper Joyride, Shleyer, Lower Whistler DH, National... Cant get into Lower Joyride or Clown Shoes though, they just dont seem to cut it for me.. I suck ass on them and dont have fun... seems kinda weird though cause I can hit every steep and drop on schleyer and Upper Joyride... ah well.. guess i like rockfaces more than rooty steep forest dirt..

I love bombing into Hornet, as you say laying off the brakes in there and just pinging off the trees, such a wicked rush.
I also like lower Whistler DH, Crack addict, Schleyer and Joyride. Not ridden Clown shoes much but every time I've been through there I was puckered up so to speak. I'm a little sketch on that trail. The drop scares me too. Did it once, won't again. I only just got away with it.

At the end of the day on sunday I was able to ride through the trees pretty quick on Hornet. That was pretty dope.

all of original sin. such an amazing trail. schleyer is also great. I love the big ladder drop and everything leading up to it. I can't wait to get back out there8)
Two favs: Original Sin tripple hump, and Clown Shoes- top to bottom. When you conquer that trail- from entrance to big drop without a dab- you feel like you're the king of the hill.

Lost lake has some fun gems. I ride there often. Its rated green but has some decent stuff hidden around it (and up some of the access roads).
I like Angry pirate and lower whistler dh. BEyond that I haven't hit much up there beyond blues. In the valley I like River, some stuff off flank and the steep crap up behind mels dilema (no clue what the name is though) and cut yer bars. Gonna try to hit up more of the blacks this year on whistler, just means I gotta ride without the gf, I was just trying to get her addicted liek me :D

Man, the g-out/rooty mess just after the Triple Hump and before Fatcrobat is tough! I've cleaned it a few times, but if it's even a bit wet, I don't try it. They've even got a spinal board right there to haul people out of the woods with!
When I finally did the Triple Hump to G-Out, I was so happy...took me quite awhile to get the nerve.

I'd have to say that anyone who can clean all the uphill and downhill lines on Comfortably Numb above wedge creek is a god!
I also really really enjoy the chris markle trails in Lost Lake.
but favorite downhill technical section has to be the loamy goodness of the uppers sections of Babylon by Bike

Pretty sure I rode that last year...I woudln't be able to find it again though. I think you have to take the Flank Trail to get there.
It's on Rainbow Mtn.
I almost cleaned this one section, but my buddy was sketching out, and wiped out in front of me, so I had to stop!
Very steep and loose...some rocks were rolling down the hill faster than I was!

Well, not really. It was in the Comfortably Numb running race last summer. I actually ran that trail faster than I rode it. I think I rode it in 4 hours, and ran it just over 3, even after waiting for my friend who was bonking.
So yea...cleaned it on my feet, but no chance on two wheels!

I ride lost lake rather constantly. What trails are those? I don't know names of anything in there, I just love most of the stuff to the side.

hey roasted - it is the trails to the side; you can get a map from muni hall for free. His stuff kinda meanders off from the main trail - you can see it follow mostly rocklines. Its like kill me thrill me but flatter.

yeah I know the trail. I love the new stuff. Very flowy and fun (especially the bottom part) and I love breaking off and hitting the semi-steep rocky section mid way through (need to hop on the double track to find it though, its much older) I have lots of fun on that stuff.

th etoonie thursday night was north secret/young lust....I always forget how technical that climbing is....holy crap....haven't done anything past wedge crk. since the first fall it was open.....would be good to ride it now that it's broken in and not spongey!
Crack addict is wicked when it all comes together in one go.
Hoping to give Clown Shoes and the Joyride steeps more of a go this season, last year it was that bit beyond me.
Comfortably Numb I won't be doing again, it just goes on and on and on! We rode out from the Village then did Cut Yer Bars, Kill Me Thrill Me and back across Numb. Damn that was a tough days ride on a big bike!
Cheap Thrills rocked too, esp. the top sections I thought. Cheeky steep right hander into the plank over the stream - NICE.
Ooooh I'm getting all excited. 5 weeks to go!

Speaking of steeps in whistler valley....:D...mels dilema in the boggy section where you are almost at the exit to the road. There is a STEEP set of sections coming from further up. I hiked it but it just seemed to get steeper and steeper. What the heck is that trail called (coming off this trail you would just bike straight for maybe 100 yards to get to the street exit at the end)

Anybody ridden Hand of Doom up in Cut Yer Bars? It's short, but super steep with some woodwork further down.
I haven't done it yet...walked a bunch, but never cleaned it all unfortunately.

I thought that was shits and giggles...its a skinny to a drop to drop to some steep stuff and a rickety old teeter onto a skinny type of thing? Had of doom is the really exposed rock face to the right, I think, you slip you die kind of thing (so much stuff in there I get it all mixed up, I love that trail too)
mandatory suicide
Thats what it feels like.

I think you're right. The skinny is really skinny, and really high, over some really jaggedy rocks? That's the one I meant. So Hand of Doom is just the big rock face thing above it a bit I guess?

Off Cut yer bars; when you get to the top of the rocks coming up hill from Nestors road junction look down to Myrtle; off to the left is Suicycle - which should be really steep with a nasty right hander. Hand of Doom is to the right and I think the woodwork is new. There were some really interesting variations off the fence lines off the Myrtle Philips boundary onto the valley trail bordering Lorimer Road as you go west - ie pedal to the quarry. I think the muni put in the concrete dividers as the sandy steep sections would sometimes wash out on the valley trail. If you look you can still see rideable 45 - 50 degree short steep pitches but now your tranny is blocked by the concrete dividers

the one with the left hand line down over the rock? that's mandatory suicide, I think the one with the hike a bike right after the road.....there's also rick's roost and cat scratch fever, nothing super crazy top to bottom, but with a couple of fun steeps.....
