Hardtail DH racing?

Hey guys
Im looking to start dh racing this season, i ride a hard tail with a jr. t
my questions are , what do i do to get started? what catagory do i start in? if you could give me ppl do talk to that would be great

BC cups have a hardtail division at most races, otherwise get a licence from Cycling BC start in Beginner or Sport and go from there. WC needs HT category's too.

Depending on skill you can race whatever you want, but I'd start in beginner if you aren't sure about yourself. I raced sport for a year on a hardtail and never really had a problem with my bike not being enough, even at nationals. However if you are planning on moving up at all you will want suspension(expert/semi/pro courses in the states are harder than beginner/sport courses). If you are just starting out though and want to have some fun bring out the hardtail, you'll be fine in beginner if you have moderate handling skills.
