well really this is just about the twoonie races:
Its called a twoonie as thats how much it costs to race - $ 2 bucks
From another thread -----
If you pay the $ 26 to sign up for the ripper you get to race:
- PORCA twoonies
- SORCA twoonies
- WORCA twoonies
- and NSMBA twoonies - see here http://www.nsmba.bc.ca/cms/index.ph...p=page&SubMenu=
I will be at some of the NSMBA WORCA And SORCA twoonies all gayed up in lycra. Come out and make me your climbing biatch
I bet you can also race Shed Club races if they're insured by Cycling BC but Im not sure - can anyone confirm?
I'd say thats a good deal
I'm planning on being at the Bunzten Lake ones at least. So that gives me 1 1/2 months to get into some semblance of riding shape. I won't pretend to be anywhere near race shape though.
I'll be on my rigid ghetto-SS, so I'll be the one puking in the bushes at the top of each climb and getting bucked into the bushes at the bottom of each descent.

Neil! The kids look great and I hope joanna is doing well too. Im glad to see you managed to talk yourselves into not doing the 10kid thing. WIll be great to see you guys again. We were going to do tenquille lake this summer and were thinking about you
Thanks Lee, not to hijack this thread, but number three is due in two-weeks time! Know a good vasectomy-ologist?
You and Sharon should come out for one of our Eagle Epics this summer.

oh .. i don't quite know what to say other then that Sharon got her 3rd new bike in 3 years and I got 3 new pairs of skis this year. Good luck buddy!
As for a vasectomy - might I suggest riding 4 lost souls with your seat up?

What's the vibe like at these races? Cause I'd love to try one out but I'm not in what I'll call my "race" shape and will be riding my 40+ lb freeride hardtail. I.e. I don't want to end up hours behind the spandex-clad weenies (no offense). Come to think of it I'll probably check out the Bunzten and Belcarra ones since they're in my neck of the woods.

I'm offended. ;)
They're pretty relaxed. The idea seems to be to come out and have some fun.

I'm definitely going to check out the Buntzen and/or Belcarra ones as well. I like to come out and have fun...

They are very relaxed casual races where no-one is offended by shaved or unshaved legs

But if you're racing, you should shave them anyway... :nerd:
Our road race season is underway now, and things are looking pretty crazy - it sure is discouraging watching all the Cat-II riders fly by...
If you've never participated in a race though, give one a try - they're lots of fun, a good way to meet fellow riders, and usually provide motivation to get out and ride more... Plus, you likely won't be the slowest person there - just don't go expecting to win... go expecting to have fun!
