Are you that stupid. The way the camera is tilted makes the wall look less vert than it really is.

well aren't telephone poles supposed to be vertical? that poor bank is pretty angled!

I photoshopped in a straight vertical line to show the actual slant of the wall. It's still pretty vert. The camera's angle was off by 11 or so degrees.
Edit: I didn't bother changing it till the telephone pole and my line were perfect, but I figure it's close enough.

AAAARGFUCK!
WHERE DID I SAY THAT IT WASN'T A WALLRIDE?!?!?! I really despise people who put words in my mouth.

And the bag question is totally valid. I wondered that too when I saw the pic, because like sure if I'm riding somewhere fast and I do something I'd keep my bag on, but if I stopped somewhere long enough for someone to take a photograph I'd take it off.

oh, and when in his post did he ever direct the "100% wallride" comment to you?

kyle hansen is from town, he is in return of the zeroes, he rips it much better than i did. check it out on that vid. anyways, so i was wearing a bag in the picture eh, does it look 'less professional' to you, is there a serious level of distraction in a backpack? maybe you just wanted to know..enough of this, ive got more "wallrides" or "BANKRIDES" to hit up for all you naysayers to 'critique/bitch and complain about'

hahahaha this is a retarded thread, someone delete it now before i get the finger pointed at for starting this chaos.

Ahh, the old tilted camera trick.

Look, if you're wondering why everyone is raggin' on ya, take your own advice and read your own posts a bit better.

If the only thing you have to say is some lame sarcastic remark, someone is gonna call you out and say you're being a bit of a dick. You only later say that you couldn't get as high on the wall - sort of a half a compliment. Had you said it in the first post, I'll bet everyone else's reactions wouldn't have been so defensive, and the tone of this whole thread would have been way friendlier.

It doesn't have to be all sunshine and roses around here, Brian, but I get the feeling you're trying to be one of those kids that is always, always saying shit just to see if you can get away with it, and then defending your 'freedom of speech/opinion/right to be a dink'. Kind of like the kid who's always antagonizing his parents/teachers/older sibs

All I'm trying to say is, if you're wondering why so many people have problems with what you have to say, it's because you're very critical, and completely unrepentant when someone calls you on it. Criticism is okay, but try to be a bit nicer about it. I'm not warning you here, just trying to give a little friendly advice. It's a tight community here, and niceness is (usually) returned in kind.

What's wrong with critical? It's not like I was criticizing the rider, only the photograph. And I wasn't being a jerk about it, unlike the folks who have problems with spacial (sp?) relations that posted after me. Thanks for the friendly advice though.

pete@nsmb.com
04-13-2005, 12:04 PM
Nothing wrong with critical, but...there's a time and place for it and I think some people feel that in your mind, any time and any place is the right place to be critical. In their minds that leads to an unnecessarily negative vibe. I tend to agree. All I'm saying is remember what yer mom told ya (at least sometimes): "got nothing nice to say? then don't say anything."

Again, I'm not trying to censure you, or tell you not to critique things, just think a little harder about when and why you are criticizing, and people might start to give a little more thought/credit to what you have to say.

That looks sweet man, nice picture...up Island rocks for riding...I am jealous. Been trying to find a way to move up (Job) and think I have my wife convinced if I can do it...haha...

And Brian, you seem to be overly critical...calm down man. I notice in a lot of your posts you seem to come off as negative...just what I notice and not a slam...but more of an observation.

if you ran into it by accident would you say you ran into a wall or a steep hill?

BrianPark
04-13-2005, 08:21 PM
Gimpy: Nobody is saying it's not a wallride. And if I ran into it by accident, I'd probably spew profanity.

Mudpuppy: I am overly critical and negative. Also Asterix rocks.

Pete: Thanks for the restraint/etc. Your first post made me think about why I'm coming off the way I do. haha

Hahahahahaha jeeeze NSMB is retarded lately. Seriously this was the funniest thread ive seen in months. Does it really matter if its a wall or not? Just to stir the pot: How come whenever a bmxer does a "wallride" on a "bank" there isnt usually pages of bickering on bmx forums. :P Anyways, nice pic dude. My point is that all you guys/gals NEED sedatives, lol.

i agree, the other point to that would be when bmx'ers call their dirt jumps "trails" we dont jump all over them for miss use of the word. the whole wall ride bank ride issue seams to be a thing with a few members of this board. almost every time some one posts a wall ride the post ends up like this one. any ways im going outside to ride my bike...

FreaK
04-14-2005, 09:21 PM
they're called trails in the bmx world because it's a series of jumps in a row, hence a trail. like the trail of breadcrumbs hansel and grettel used to find their way.
