Need a hand?
I'm happily unemployed and am up for lending some* muscle to the trail buildy people. Never done any before, but can wield a spade/saw/kitten.

Reckon I'll pop down to Gerricks then. Ta.
Prawn - Sure, I'll happily go back to the UK, work instead of ride, enjoying the infinitely inferior trails that take an hour or two to get to.

Talk to Mark at the sacred ride, he's responsible for most of the trails in the area. He f'ed up his knee so he won't be going out but I'm sure he could point you in the right direction. I'm still keen to ride bubba, but the skiing's so good it's going to have to wait.

PM or Email Tam. Hes buildin a trail right now involving lots of digging, and hes sick of his ass, sure he could use a hand.

Who's red ron?
I'll try Mark and Tam, thanks.
Trout - cool. I thought all the skiing was over now. Just got a car though, so shuttling would be a goer.

Hey Bubba, if you dare shuttle any of the Kokanee Park trails, you're weak! :D
BTW - It looks like we'll be taking the pludge and giving North Vancouver the big elbow and coming to live in Nelson as we'd originally hoped. We'll worry about how we make a living at a later date :S
I noticed a few spots on Noona and Ledges that need repair or a bridge built. Didn't want to tread on someone's toes for now though.
Once we're there, I'm well up for some trail maintenance in my spare time - did you notice Brandon carries a handy saw around in his ride-pack, so I'm sure he'd be up for some trail maintenance here and there as well :)

Lazy, not weak. I sure as hell hasn't going to ride up to Hitman the other week.
Good to hear you've made the right decision about moving.
Oh, and Brandon doesn't carry that saw for trees...

deffinetly, but we we can't have any stunts under the power lines. The park took them all out as under the powerline is provinical park.

Yeah, I saw this months Nelson Cycle Club newsletter, total shame about losing the lower trails. I'm glad I managed to ride them last month (just in time!)
I was wondering whether there's room for negotiation for building new trails above the power lines, to 'replace' the trails decomission below the power lines.

We've got bigger battles. that pyscho trailer-trash guy from the top of mtn station road axed fat-chance (and its not even his property). An anderson timber co isn't too stoked on some stuff at station
:(

I saw that in the NCC newsletter as well. I hiked up to the Mtn. Station trails in March and noticed a couple of 'big' new houses going up. I wondered at the time whether the MTB 'traffic' would upset them - will have to wait and see.
I also wondered whether Anderson Timber was pre-preventing a public slagging match, by voicing it's disagreement with the trails now, before clear-cutting some of the timber in the area, sometime in the future.
