if it's an 03, stay away...the 03's had troubles with not enough oil flow, which cause the internals to sort of explode and weep oil out of the seals. I don't know if it affected the entire Boxxer line-up, but I'm 100% sure it happened to the World Cup
there is no difference between the 2003 boxxer race and the 2004.( aslong as it has the black box kit). and the only difference between the boxxer race and the boxxer team is that the race has no compression dampening. i'v had a boxxer race for year now and it's been great. it's so light (6.1lbs) and strength has not been a problem.

i have little knowledge about the 03s, but i can offer the fork in my sig its brand new reciept included, also i will throw in a few extras (im alittle flexible on price but not much)
ive heard some pretty nasty stories about those boxxers having serious trouble, and of one snapping while it was quite new

the same can be said about eny fork, but i'v seen a lot more broken stances and shermans then boxxers. and if thay are strong enuf for pro DH racers and freeriders then i wouldnt wory about it breaking.

I have a 03 boxxer wc kinda silver splippery stanctions , race internals that has been black boxed and some other odds and ends done to it to make it perform. but I love my fork. I have ridden it on 4 frames and never have thought for one sec about selling it. It is going strong with no leaks and the seals have only bin done once. great fork and light and nice and short as well.

I have this fork (2003 race) and really like it. Strong, light, and good value. I've ridden it hard and have had no problems with leaks. Three things to know about it though:
1) rubber bottom-out bumpers have since been upgraded. Old ones can get chewed up and sucked up into internals. Easy to fix on your own.
2) Blackbox foot-valve upgrade is ok, but not completely necessary in my opinion unless you do a lot of high speed washboard type of riding.
3) drop crown can dent your top tube if you are not carefull about padding it. Putting the headset spacers under the crown can help.
4) don't overtorque the rebound adjuster. It's a plastic allen key socket and will strip out if you are not carefull
