Can anyone tell me the realworld difference between the calipers below (aside from price):

and

and while I'm on the subject, how about the REAL WORLD difference between:

Theyre exactly the same.

Note the Saints come with 2 set of pads (resin and metallic) and the saint levers come with oil, lines and bleedkit. It will work out to the same price, or a bit more for saint, but keep in mind you'll have that extra set of pads.

If you look on the shimano website, it gives a weight of 353g for XT with pads and adaptor. For the saint it lists a weight of 380 with pads and adaptor. They may be making this up so they seem different. I seem to recall somewhere that the pistions are bigger on the saint version, but I may be pulling that out of my ass. Anyone from a shop ever take a close look at them side by side, or weight them?

The difference is the rotors. The XT rotors will not fit the Saint hubs because the spline pattern is different, it's larger on the saints to accomodate the 20mm front axle. As far as I know the calipers are the same.

Suckafoo, the weight difference is in the rotor.

Edit: I haven't seen the LX levers in person but from the pics they look identical. Can anyone confirm this?

i would think if the whole was larger there would be alot less material on there and therefore be lighter or extremely similar in weight.

the sait dose have a larger piston also but i doubt that add that much weight also, im pretty sure that extra bit of weight comes from the pads, larger piston adn rotor small amounts in each sounds more reasonable.

6" vs. 8"

in both cases the difference is paint.

and an 8" adapter will weight more than a 6", to but that argument to rest.

i say the piston for both are exactly the same.

it's the 8" rotor. the XT comes w/ 6"
