I have seen It on many manitous and few others what is this...its on the gold stanctions, the gold is discolored on the stanctions in a darker gold in blotches...will this affect the performance, is this bad...anyone had any experiences?

dunno ... 888's do it too though. i believe it has something to do with pulling up the dust seals and cleaning all the mud and shit out.

in my manitou book it says this can happen with the stance series but it is ok and will not weaken them

Mine has always been like that...
When you said discolouration, I thought you meant the outer coating had worn off, which kinda is a bigger deal.
Manitou's choice of Ano' shop has always had their "legs" look like that...
even back when i had a X-vert carbon the caoting appeared "splocthy" like u say...
it dont affect the fork in aynway what so ever thou... it never gets worse, or better for that matter...
the odd thing is its usually one one leg to...:???:
p.s. my Sherman Slider is like that, so are all my buddies... we have like 4-5 of them in teh crew...
dont sweat it...
enjoy teh fork...:thepimp:
