So I got my friend to order one of the closeout ironhorse SGS's from supergo. Box shows up yesterday, so I open it up and it's a freakin low-end warrior comp!!! Needless to say we're pissed. Supergo will give the money back but now the SGS is soldout and we're without a bike for him.
So what I need to know is: Any good deals on a DS freeride bike for <1700 cdn?
Used or new, as long as it's in good condition.
Anyone spotted anything in a shop in the lower mainland?
Thanks for any help guys!
Exams will be over soon so we've got to get him a bike!

Those Supergo Ironhorse SGS bikes were a smoking deal, tough to beat.
Caps Westwood has a couple of 04 Norco Six's on the floor with $2099 stickers on them. Call them up and see if you can haggle them down.

I know! That's why I'm so mad that I got the wrong bike!
I'll try caps, but the six retailed for like 2800 so I don't know if they will be willing to go lower (even though it was overpriced).

thanks for the help but nevermind guys. Looks like I'm fycked over by supergo.
I can't get the money back from duty that fedex will be asking me for. so unless I get another bike from supergo I will have spent about 200$ for absolutely nothing.

They will go lower. I bought at 1999 from them. Was a Boxing Day leftover price (didnt retag all the bikes) but if they would accept that then, then why not now (3 months more devaluation)?
Go in the store, talk to Glen (the manager) and make sure he knows just how serious you are. Like any bike store guy he's jaded about tire kickers and telephone tire kickers.

Yup, what ATN said above. Glen's always willing to make a deal if you're serious. Money talks.

serious take it right to super go and complain, bitch, whine, repeat thats the only way your gonna get any compensation.
they sent you the wrong bike and they still took your money costing you shipping duty and other emotional problems.
"disgusting, malice, propostorus, why its damn OUTRAGEOUS!!"

he also said "we're gonna cash in on your wretched disfigurement"

That's the plan. Tomorrow the customer service "surpervisor" is in.
If I don't get either a 7.3 for a really low price. Or a yakuza with a sherman or something I'm going to be really mad.
If I get another bike from them I don't lose anything. But if I get my money "back" I still have to pay brokerage fees and because of how exchange on credit cards works I lose 6% of 1600 cdn. That's allot! (ie I pay at 1.25 cdn but the refund is at 1.19)

because you used your credit card, and they sent you something significantly different than what you ordered, you might be able to get a refund through your credit card. Most cards offer this in their online protection policies. get in touch with your bank and find out.

that I'm not sure about. Because supergo is willing to give a "refund" (though I lose 150 from it) I don't think visa will cover it

It's under the fraud protection policy.
You should not be losing out on exchange, it smells kind of fishy, contact your bank.

I just checked my card. When I bought the bike exhange used was 1.235 and 2 days later (dollar barely changed I checked) they refunded me 100$ cuz of price change and the rate used was 1.185.
a diff of 5%
I'm pretty sure the bank takes a cut when you convert either way. Looks to be around 2.5%
