WAR on Mt. Prevost

Many of you may have wondered, is there competition between the two services that are seen on Mt.Prevost: BackCountryTaxi & Iguana Ranch

I am writing to explain that we are not in competition whatsoever. Much to the contrary, we sincerely wish Scott & Backcountrytaxi continued success. Without Scott’s dedication to his business, and sweaty hard work, Mt Prevost would not be nearly as awesome as it is to ride. It is Scott and the riders in Duncan, who put in their time and energy to make the trails as superior as they are, and for that we are grateful, as are the numerous other riders who hit the mountain, some of which are our club members.

If you see us running shuttles up the mountain, don’t bother to ask if you can jump on, we do not operate that way. That is Scott’s gig, and we would never dream of crossing that line. When we are shuttling on the mountain it is only for I’m.B.C. (iguana mountain biker’s club) these are people who are staying at the ranch, have signed a waiver, and have agreed to donate based on their usage of the club facilities. They have booked the club vehicle & driver, for their own private-usage. (It is the same as three buddies, jumping in one of their own vehicles & agreeing to pay gas & damage for that vehicle) It is NOT a shuttle service, but a simply a feature of our Club and the ONLY pick-up & drop off is here at the ranch.

If anyone wishes to ride Mt Prevost on a regular basis, we recommend that they get a membership to BCT and use their economical and efficient service, which is readily available every weekend at the base of the mountain.

We encourage you to support BCT and help keep Mt. Prevost the terrific mountain that it is. As for us, we feel our contribution to the MTB community is that we tirelessly promote the sport worldwide, promote our region & our province, build on our own land and open it for free to the community, and try to help out whenever we can…to this end we will be volunteering our club vehicle for shuttles at the Island Cup Race on April 17th, and will be at the base of the mountain providing FREE homemade soup to any of the race organizers & trail builders, and cheap soup for those who just came to race!! We hope to see you there…KEEP RIDING!!
