I was wondering if anyone had some footage (or a link) of Ernie Crist's rant on how "nowhere else in the world is mountain biking done in the mountains" or something. I'm doing a research argument paper for school, and thought this might help in the presentation. Thanks

ps. also fill out my poll, I want to know what kind of percentage of riders build trails, or help out or maintain. thanks

when im on my home turf its pretty much weekly. it fluctuates, example in the summer it can be up to a week or so in a row none stop (job dependent) and in the winter it can be more like once a month. so it all averages out.

You should interview him directly. Slap together some questions and drop an email on him. He'll do it for sure.

thats true, I didn't really take seasons into account
I dunno, I'm just trying to make an argument that riders more than make up for their "destructive" riding with hours put in on the trails

Trails as in mountain trails, or trails = jumps and trails? I voted at least once a year, I get out to a couple trail days a year, but I maintain and build jumps more often.

I think anything should count, its still a contribution. I'm trying to compare this to the amount that hikers contribute, since I've honestly never seen a hiker doing trail work in the last 5 years

Has anyone/how many hikers have you guys seen building or maintaining? Do you think that riders help out way more than hikers? Cuz I know that there must some of them that help out, it's just that I've never seen one

How 'bout a couple of times per year in your poll? I'd choose that one.

Check with Sharon on attendance of bikers vs runners on the BP trail day last weekend

One of the trail day threads mentioned 3 trail runners to around 130 riders.
