Does this stuff suck? I have a giant pile of boulders that roughly shape out my transition, but I'm thinking if I fill in the cracks and mellow out any big bumps with gravel it could be super nice.

Does this stuff work? or will it all wash away?

pretty much what I would think is that the larger peices will wash away and all the sandy stuff will stick in the cracks. that's what seemed to happen on any steeper parts where it's been used on NSMBA trail days. Flatter areas it seems to be fine though.

"crush" is just how it sounds. It's rock that has been crushed and has sharper edges. This helps it interlock and get stable.
I wouldn't want to crash/road rash on it.

Yeah it pretty much sucks to fall on, but I think I'm going to give it a shot. Some helpful city workers left a couple giant piles within 50 feet of where I need it ;)

I'm trying to get motivated for going bucket-brigading today, but we've got about 2 inches of rain since last night....

Thanks for your help.

I wouldn't do it. 1stly, when you put the crushed gravel on your boulders it's going to be a super slippery & sketchy. It'll be like trying to land on black ice. And when you go down, your going to end up looking like raw hamburger.

If you want to use it, just don't put it on top of boulders. Box in a tranny and just fill it with the crush. That way it'll pack down and won't be such a sketch surface to land on.

If you're talking about 3/4 crushed limestone, that stuff dries as hard as cement after a little rain. If you should crash in that shit you will be in a world of hurt !!

3/4 crush is all the same sized fractured rocks. it's good for drainage but because of all the voids does not hold together well and will rut out quickly. see if they have a pile of roadbase (also sometimes called 3" minus). it has rocks of various sizes and holds together when compacted.
