If you filled out a door prize draw from Ramada Plaza Resorts at the Outdoor show at BC Place (or any Outdoor Show for that matter) They will call you and tell you you've won a trip to Fort Lauderdale, but WATCH OUT!

By renting a booth?
They got me at one point, but I got them back! All you have to do is call them, demand a refund, when they say no, refer them to this law, tell them they are violating it, and that you'll call the authorities. They'll have your money back within 24 hours.
Specifically, they have to refund your money if you request it within 30 days of purchase.

Hope it works out!
Once you get your money back, file a complaint at www.800helpfla.com and hope they get shut down.
haha i supposedly won that trip by entering a draw that was at a booth at the chinese new year celebration in china town a few weeks ago. they called me up and gave me the initial spiel but i recognized it was a scam right away and told them to f-off. too funny.

So you are told you have won a trip somewhere and you give them your credit card #??
yea anyone who asks for your credit card number on the phone is a scammer. NEVER give your card number over the phone.

so they let a known scam rent a booth?
i'm not sure how they got the booth, but when you see it and enter the draw, you really don't have any way of knowing what it's for. i entered a few draws at the same time cuz i was trying to win a car that was there. lol

I got a call the other morning for a similar scam. The deal was that I had won a free cruise, but underneath their long winded spiel was the fact that I had to buy one cruise ticket first to get the free one. I called the lady on it and she sort of hestiated at first and then said that I was correct. No thanks, see ya.
