Mountain Biker SHOT in Langley!
Last night, this mountain biker was riding his bike around the city of Langley around 8:30PM. He was stopped at an intersection minding his own business and doing some basic old school BMX tricks on the triangle median. Old school BMX tricks = endo’s, 360 roll backs, rock walks etc.
Anyway, while he was doing these tricks, he heard what sounded like tires rolling over broken glass. Weird. Then something hit his frame. Then something hit him dead centre in the chest. HOLY F-BOMB, someone’s shooting at him!
He looked around and saw three cars in the MacDonald’s drive thru. He approached the suspicious looking pick up and asked if they were firing BB guns. “No, not us, maybe the car behind us.” Right…
The rider then peeled out of there and flagged down the police who instantly tracked these punks down at the Mc-Dee’s. They searched their truck and found nothing. DAMN! They searched the area around the drive thru and did not find anything.
Wrong car? Perhaps. It was dark, this guy was being shot at and perhaps he picked the wrong car. Who knows? He was not hurt but WAS very concerned. If this BB or pellet, or air blast hit him in the eye who knows what could have happened. F-bombing idiots!
Anyway, this happened in Langley at the Mc-Dee’s on 200 St. Be careful out there.
Who was the rider, you ask?
Me.

I could have cut the suspense with a knife. That was a scary story. Be safe out there, people. Me, I'm always strapped, "'cause I ain't the type to get slapped in the cheek without my fist coming up to hit you back in your teeth, for real"

Glad you are okay Brent.
Apparently you need to stay on the right side of the tracks. Somebody's got your number!

This had better not be some long, drawn out, complicated excuse to get out of our rematch on Seymour.......

that sucks brent. i used to ride all the time at night and its gotten to the point where every single ride turns into some punks harassing me. i had some guys chase me in their car from the Langley Skatepark all the way through the Walmart parking lot and almost to Canadian Tire just to try and steal my bike.

We need to start packing. Heat, muscle, nuts - something! My problem is that I attract attention. Chrome Protech open face helmet and Norco factory Team jersey complete with my name on the back!
Maybe it's time to tone it down and go ghetto! Maybe naked?

you have to fit in and look like you are crazy. maybe wear some acidwash jeans that are way too tight and a mesh crop top jersey. and dont wear a helmet. wear a backwards ball cap or a headband. preferably with the name of a heavy metal band on it.
i used to go full out and wear all my gear but not anymore. skatelid, jeans and a hoodie and hopefully the harassment will end. also ride with some buddies.

Did the bullet dent your frame?
brentomatic

No dents, no damage. I think it was a low-powered bb gun. The bb hit me in the chest but did not hurt. Scared me more than anything else. 8 - 10 inches higher and it could have taken out my eye.

thats fucking crazy. people who act like that should be caught then thrown away. remember last year i think it was some guys pulled a similar stunt in toronto and kill a toddler.
25 years no parole that how its should be.

Night rides should be done in the woods. Much safer with cougars and bears instead of a-holes. At least with a cougar, they won't deny they're trying to eat you.

Glad you are ok.
Even though they were BB's it is still frightening that someone actually shot at you.

So you think he deserved to get shot because of what he was wearing?

well... if you look like a skid, skid's arent going to try and rob you at knife/gun point (thats not a fun experience, btw) ... the same can likely be said for ppl w/ bb guns.

Yea - don't you know it's only cool if you wear what everyone else is wearing. Street is all about rebellion and non-conformity so you have to wear the uniform all the other 'cool' guys are wearing.
Sheesh - everybody knows that.

People like you either have no brain or choose not to use it when posting.
Oh, it was an open face skate helmet not FF. You should have read my post more carefully.
Thanks for your support.
