I'm gonna race the Duncan for sure (I live right beneath the mountain post race BBQ maybe) Hammerfest and Nanaimo probably. Duncan's gonna be fun, it's a long course, we clocked it around 10 to 13 minutes

Mt. Prevost. Locals built a new upper part, and the lower part will be some of Graceland, probably gonna ride it next weekend and get a run in, I'll see how good it is than.

I've only been to lake cowichan and driven through Duncan on the way to victoria, How do you get to Mt Prevost, and do you have a map?

I've been looking for a reason to take the bike to the island for a while now, but I make a habit of not entering races without being at least a little familiar with the course.

hammerfest is the biggest island DH

But the BC cup finals are on the island too at mt washington

i want to do the Hammerfest this year, is there a website that you can register on?

There isn't any pre registration for the island cup races, hammerfest is no longer a BC cup sanctioned race. you just have to show up and register on May 1st

I can answer any questions re: Port Alice. The course is super flowy and fast. Drop In Season 3 episode 5 has helmet cam footage of Steve Romanuik rippin the course.

I am just wondering how much these races cost? I have heard you have to join a club, so how much is that, and then is there a race fee on the day of the race?

Also, is there just a one day thing you can pay if you just do one race?

I have never raced before but am thinking it would be fun to come out and give it a try this summer, plus I rode Graceland on Prevost recently and that is a great trail.

club membership fee is around $30 and race entry fees are 10-20. you need to be a member of a club for insurance reasons, its good for one race or all races this year.
