What rear shock for a 2003 Norco Fluid 2

I have a 2003 Norco Fluid 2 with a Fox Float L AVA 7.25 x 1.75 Air that is pretty much toast (stupid design where seat post can get too low and crush the shock).

Anyway it is going to cost about 1/2 price of a new shock to get it fixed so I figured I might as well get a new shock (coil instead of air).

If anyone has any suggestions and experiences with putting different shocks on this bike I would greatly appreciate hearing them.

2002 models were spec'd with coil shocks and for the most part turned out well. You're probably looking at a Fox Vanilla R.

i like how you blamed the 'stupid design' instead of yourself for damaging the shock..

look for a used vanilla r. cheapest alternative, should cost 100-150
