Lately I've been noticing some oil around the topcaps of my 2002 Shiver DC on both legs. I pulled off the red preload knob and there was oil under it and all over the little c-clip under the knob. I rebuilt the fork a few months ago, but never really noticed anything. Is there supposed to be some kind of washer or o-ring under that little c-clip above the top cap? Or is the leaking becuase the o-ring under the top cap that's on the cartridge is worn out?

Corey?
Oh yeah, he's a Tripple 8 man now...:crybaby:
We need a "new" Lord of the Shiv.
That does not work just for Shivers, it is the same for Monsters, Supers and etc.
If it is leakign that bad, you might want to take that o ring and go match it at RONA(REVY or w/e it is now) It should be soemwhere around 2-5cents easily. Even with normal o-rings, there are small amount of "moisture" on my forks but I just clean them up from time to time.

Well, I wouldn't say that's its pouring oil, its just a hint above what i would consider to be normal moisture, but thanks for the tip about the o-ring. I'll probably head to the store tomorrow and see what they have.
