Dorados dont need adapters because they come with all the disc mounts you need (most of the time). Chances are hes using the 8" post mounts for his hayes, so you will need to go buy one. He will have the adapter for your XT.
NO..
cuz mantiou uses post, Zokie uses Tab.

"tab" as you call it, is IS (nternational standard). If his buddy was using the IS mount with a hayes adapter, then he's fine.
And yes hes joining team Hayes. :P
i dont know what kind of Dorados uve seen but everyone i have seen has its own propirtory adaptor...
which wont bolt onto a Zokie in any way shape or form...
thats sad to hear he's ditching his XT's... a sad day indeed.

Well with my Dorado it didnt have disc brake mounts, but rather two threaded holes. Into these holes I could bolt on any of the three mounts that were included. This meant not having to run an adaptor. If for some reason, you bought the fork used and the seller forgot to give you the post mounts, then you would simply run the IS mount with a hayes adapter (fork : is mount : hayes adapter : caliper). Maybe I just got a special dorado and everyone else didn't....
yeah thats the same as mine..
where your confusing me is how u tink u can bolt a 888 Hayes adaptor onto a manitou ?
one is TAB the other is post.. regardless of spacing its 2 totally diffferent styles of mounting system.

sorry ifo, xt's may be ditched. definatly one of them is, but it comes down to if i want to have matching brakes. hayes will only be temporary, i want hop 6pot.
soooo .... if i get his front brake, ill need to buy the adaper? thats kind of what i figured
and if he gets my brake, then hes gotta figure something out.
correct? yes no?
thanks
ok let me get this all sorted...
u have the 888 right ? and your getting the Hayes...?
he has the Dorado and he is getting the XT's ?
your XT adaptor will bolt to his Dorado aslong as he has the tab mount adaptor that Manitou provided with the fork... if hes missing that peice hes gunna need it ....
as for your 888, you'll need the 8" Hayes IS adaptor... those are cheap and avaiable from all LBS's should be about 16$ or so.
