Well, my "get back in shape so I can hit the trails again" commuter buildup is going nicely, but now I'm stuck for something to hang on my rims.
Any suggestions for some slicks that can take more of a beating than City Slickers? :D

I'm a 200-lb fat hack who is probably going to be banging off of a lot of curbs on a rigid bike, and the hookworms might be the way to go. How are they in the wet?

Specialized Armadillo
I've got them on my commuter and have had zero flats. Rode through some glass too.
Thick treads last a long time.

Check out the Vredestein Spider Max and the Armadillo for commuting, both are great tires.

One of the guys I work with has a set for sale. He used them to commute a few times, but I think he changed back to knobbies as there is a trail route option on the ride home.
