Besides Aesthetics, the toptube/seattube gusset is kinda pointless...

6lbs alium ht is alot but look at the le toy 3 and tell me does it LOOK 6lbs.
that does seem like a HUGE toptube gusset and plus it all looks RUFF. maybe its size large? lol

I believe its called the FATDADDY isnt isnt ROSSCOFAT
u should buy it. it would match ur name and ur fetish for 24's
http://www.24-bicycles.com/fatdaddy.jpg
yeah if they just kept that top tube straigt, no gusset and had the standard bit of seat tube extending rather than super high like that it would be cool. Have the medium and large just be longer and maybe a bit taller, but everyone likes being able to put their seat down! its an uninterrupted seat tube anyways so tons of space to play around with without the gusset and extension!
edit, it does look better and more in place when the frame is at the angle it would be on when built, like chainstays parallel to the ground.

I could be wrong, but the old V10 is about 12lbs, and that frame looks a lot beefier than that. I'm guessing about 15-16lbs. There's a lot of aluminum there.

nah lots of CNC parts like the bottom bracket area. maybe MAYBE 13lbs MAX i say. the V10 had HUGE plates solid ones.
i see a weak spot in the BB billet section...
the forward part were it meets the downtube looks liek a crack spot waiting to happen.
not sure why the frame doesnt have throu-axle rear... is it a shoter travel frame??
looks more like a DH bike if u ask me...

Im not sure. remeber this is Prototype. they may change it. also I think it may be a short travel VVP bike under 8" not 100% sure tho
"We have worked hard on our new frame to come in 2005: the FAT DADDY will be a hardcore freeride frame...
3 shock positions: 120-150, 170-200... All VPP"

Not really....when the seatpost is up, it may not be long enough to extend into the seat tube much beyond the top tube. There is a fairly large gap between the top tube and the top of the seat tube.
No gusset may result in the leverage of the rider weight on the seat post cracking the weld at the top tube/seat tube. I've seen several frames fail because of this, none of which had the gusset.
With a long seatpost you never raise, you wouldn't necessarily need it, but if you are going to be climbing it's a good idea.

The LeToy isn't 6 lbs Ross, it's 8 I believe, which is a LOT for an aluminum hardtail.
This bike looks heavy, but pretty dope in general.
