So im thinking of geting a Fox 36 for my bullit and geting rid of my slider. The main thing im concerned with is its a kind of small fork for doing Real Dh and big freeride stuff with. But then again ive been doing fine with my slider on this kind of stuff and its the same travel just dual crown.
Im a pretty light guy only like 145lbs but do ride and race Dh will this be enough fork?
Option two is get a DHX rear shock and some other smaller parts and have a little money left for stuff.
The money for them both is very close though which should i do.
Finally anyone have any more info on the 36?

is the 36 the new dual crown? the really ugly one? that looks liek ti should be on a dirt bike?

The 36 is the single crown the dh40 is the dual crown the look grows on you its sick fork id get that if i had the money to.
And im running a 5th right now and its pretty good but the DHx is really good and i can get it for a very minimal price.

Tough call. Even though you're light I would stick with the slider up front. I think the 36 would be better on a hardtail or an all-mountain fully. Either way your gonna have a sweet bike.

it depends, the 36 is super strong even though its a single crown, but some people just feel more comfortable having a double crown when going big and fast, its just a mental thing. the slider is very nice though so maybe it would be best to wait and get the dh40 in a while instead of getting a different fork that has a bit of a different damping system, is lighter, but still only has six inches. thats my 2 cents

get the rear shock im pretty sure most of your posts in gear are friggin useless... what the hell does this fork being ugly have to do with how well it works? for 99% of the people here it matters how their bike rides before how the bike looks
as far as the question.. from my experience i have found that going back to single crown if you ride/race dh is not a good idea... i say stick with the slider

if that money's just falling out of a hole in your pocket every day then i recommend upgrading the front first, you don't want your front to wash out so better suspension performance on the front is more important than the rear. rear is mostly comfort.

ohh moneys not just falling out of my pockets, from racing my team gets hook ups from a lot of companies at amazing deals it helps alot.

you're racing with a slider? isn't that sort of like racing with a dirt jumper?
if you're really serious about winning i'd bet you'd get on better with a race fork, or at least a non-huck type.

i'd upgrade to a better dual crown if your racing. the diff between a 5th and dhx isn't all that much.

Ohh ive done fine racing a jr t so the actual performance will be good, and the difference between a DHX and 5th is actually pretty big, i think im going to try to get the 36 if i get another 50 $ or so i can.

I ride a bullit with a 5th. I am curious, what makes DHX so much better than a 5th?
