Today was bike appreciation day. Rebuilt the rear hub and installed a spankin Hanger Banger, without hassle. Cleaned and over-hauled the drive train. Anyway shifting is much crisper as the NSB HB does a good job of firming up the noodle that DMR calls a Deraillieur hanger. Will keep ya'll posted on progress or beefs.

As a long term owner of a banger hanger on my bighit, it works amazing. Before getting a banger hanger i had bent my original derailer hanger beyond repair and had wrecked my derailer. If there is a rock on the trail my derailer will hit it (i'll be the first to admit im not exactly smooth) well a few months later and no problems shifting works great

Where can I get these things? I should put one on each of the bikes! How much do they cost?

Buy at your LBS. (in Canada). About $34.- suggested retail. There's a version for solid axles as well. About $40 for those, they have a steel nut that takes 8mm allen key. You can buy a matching nut for the other end of the axle for around $14 1/2. There's no cheap online place to get them.

I plan on picking up their new 03/04 Super/JrT axle release tab thingy as soon as it becomes available.
Great stuff... http://www.northshorebillet.com/

caps new west we should have em, but since i havent worked since forever i could be wrong
i'd had absolutly terrible luck with the NSB rear hangers on my BIGHIT...
went back to stock Spec. hangers and never loooked back...
never tried the hanger banger thou..
Thanks, Leverfingers.
Yeah, Can't do much with the specialized design because there's no room and they used such tiny hardware. I love my specialized SX but it's also got a ridiculous hanger. The Bighit hanger was made in answer to those who din't want to shell out $40.- for a hanger. But in the meantime specialized dropped the price on their own hangers.
Flaps, coming soon. Pressure your LBS for them. They come in pairs. $80.- (can)/pair. That's a little over half the price of the originals, if you could get them. Bike shops may break them up into singles. Up to them.

i just ordered a hanger banger yesterday from the bikezone in surrey. Seems that I regularly destroy the hanger on my flow.

Hanger banger still going strong and doing its job very efficiantly. Wimpy DMR der. hanger is still intact and has taken a few hits. Gotta pay a little more attention to the quick release coming loose but that is a minor complaint and the only one I got. 2 thumbs up!

i bought mine at John Henrys on one of their sale days but the cheapest i saw it was at Rocky Cycle for twenty something which is less than i paid.(don't know their current pricing)
mine has taken a beating which would otherwise have been my der. so has paid for itself more than once.
