So I'm on the cusp of getting a new board for the season, but I can't decide on what to get.

It's down to three at the moment (though I'm open to others):

Option Booter 163 (26.9waist)
Nitro Magnum 161 (27.2waist)
Nitro Atlas 160 (27.1waist)

I've currently got a 162 Limited all mountain wide that suits me fine, but is getting pretty old. I want something that's more on the freestyle side of things as I've got the Limited for just cruising, and a 181 Supermodel for the big shit. I'd like to ride in the park and pipe more this season, but mostly I ride on the local mountains with my GF who's an intermediate rider so I just pop off the shit on the side of blue runs.

A little about me.

I've been riding for about 15 years, but totally fell out of the 'scene' long ago (before standardized hole patterns, step-in bindings, or helmets) so I'm not totally aware of what's out there now.

I'm big. 6"5, 220lbs, so please don't bother telling me that I should get some ripping park board that's meant for 140lb groms.

I'm cheap. I've got the money and will spend it if the board will last me, but I want some value for my $$.

Can anyone offer their opinions?

how about a Neversummer? There pretty heavy but they make good boards that wont brake, and have a lifetime warrenty if they do. Actually they might have changed it to 7 years but thats still pretty decent!

Yeah, I looked at them, but their wide board just isn't wide enough.

It's too bad, they've got some pretty sweet decks.

If you want a board that's going to last buy a Prior. The other boards you listed are nice but the Priors that I've owned have outlasted everything else.

I'm not so much looking for a board that will come from a good manufacturer, I'm having a REALLY hard time finding a board that will fit me.

i just bought a Option Supercharger. its a really wide board, which im thinkin would also be good for a heavy rider. 31 at the tip...26.5 waist, pretty wide. made for 10-13 boots. i dono if it will help though.

try goin down to you local shop and see what they say. thats probably your best bet.

They will make custom shapes (http://www.priorsnowboards.com/custom_boards.php) but it isn't cheap.

I had a look at a Burton Canyon 168 today. A little long for an all around fool-around board for sure, but at your height, it might be about right?

Nice and wide though. Price is about what you'd expect from Burton though: sticker was ~600 $CDN. Burton stuff is always over priced though, isn't it? :)

Safety,
I'm running a Libtech Emmagator 166. It's a great do all board oriented to freeride and awesome on powder days set back 1 1/2"-2".

Waist width is only 26 and might be a bit small for you.

Been riding for a lot of years and used to ride the Litigator 172, thought it would be great just coming off a Burton Supermodel but it was to much.

Check it out.

Crap. Now I really want a LibTech Magne-Traction. I highly doubt they come in wide though.

Has anyone else seen this?!?! Looks super cool if the physics are sound.
