Since moving here seven months ago, we have been to nearly every shop on the shore and many in Vancouver as well.

Our old equipment has needed a lot of up-keep/replacing and our winter gear had seen way too many wet rides.

My point is:

Above all other experiences;

ON TOP BIKE SHOP has ONCE AGAIN provided timely, cost effective and helpful service.

Thanks again guys.

Cheers to BSP for their help too!!

We are really fortunate to have so many pro shops in our new community that regulary save us from missing a ride because of equipment issues.

Who else is really good to deal with?

Cove has come through for me many times. Dave at North Shore Sports Swap has also helped me with some odd requests and never overcharges.:thepimp:

JH's has really stepped it up in the last year. Often times their mech's will do free adjustments and comp me small parts. Just my experience, but I've never recieved the same level of service at any other NS shop. Cove is a very, very close 2nd.

Plus, who else puts on a two day street party every year with a dj comp.

Cove owns hands down. Last time I went to JH's the guy was a total prick and ill never go there again. Sure cove is a bit more expensive, but they have never failed me while JH's has many times.

Experience Cycling, Hands down, the best shop on VI, in my opinion. I have been to all of the shops courtney and below, I have found that russ hays has the biggest selection but experience has the best service, with AMC and Reckless right behind. Thats my opinion. I havent been to any of the shops on the shore, I went to Maple Ridge Cycles and bought a seat, I gave the guy a 5 or 6 dollar tip and he was like freaking out he was so happy lol.

On the Island I was treated VERY WELL by Oakbay Bikes in Victoria and also had some fairly good service from the guys at Neverland Cycle on West Saanich.

I really appreciated not being pressured to buy only the most expensive replacement parts or newest frame concept. They helped me keep it economical at a high quality level.

Really great wrenches too.

My brother went to Squamish to go riding with a friend. He had just gotten his bike fixed up at a Vancouver bike shop, and it was fuxxored worse than when he took it in.

So his friend took him over to Tantalus. They spent almost 1/2 hour on the bike, fixed what was wrong, and refused to take any money for the work.

Is that the shop in Duncan? I agree, and I'm from Edmonton! They were totally cool and showed my wife and I the way to get to Mt. Tzouhalen and told us where the cool trails were. Nice guys!

And if I may, the best in Edmonton is Revolution Cycle. Cool people and cool gear.

gonna take the opportunity to boost the guys at Evolution . i've always had good experiences at all the shops here in whistler , but evolution is the place i wind up at usually . there is a q-beck guy there who really knows his shit .

while i'm at it , i'm gonna send huge thanks to the guys who worked at Garb bike and bean this past summer . i like to do my own wrenching , and those guys were always there with parts , tools , and advice . thanks boys . . . . you did an amazing job , dealing with riders who need their repairs done ASAP . . . . .

You guys are so fucking spoiled it's not even funny.
The shops on the lower mainland are of such a high caliber, the "worst" shop is in a different league than most "best" shops anywhere else in the world.

The competition for customers on the North Shore is just insane. Everytime I go into a shop I'm amazed that they are trying so hard to outdo the incredibly good service of the other shops.

I do love On Top, those guys are so bizarre. Dan has got some kind of hypnotic Jedi sales pitch. :high:

Dizzy's on Londsdale is a great community hub.

Cove has always given me the best deals of anyone.

Though seems like I buy the bulk of my bike crap from JH, they have everything!

I always put my neighborhood shop, Ambleside Cycles, on the top of my list when I need a part or service.

ok. JH really is the bestest ever. :) but all the shore shops are amazing.
and as for dan... i don't know you guys must be total suckers.. his idea of "sales" is too much if you ask me. he was trying to convince me i "needed" a scream. and wouldn't leave it til i rode his. nuts.

they dont have that holier than thou vibe ive run across at so many shops in North Van. just because im not a "bro" or dont drop thousands of dollars a time doesnt mean i shouldnt be treated any different.

some of those shops need to have this kind of vibe to make people come in. ive decided that i am going to be buying stuff from red's if i need a part. i go up there quite a few times a year so its not too hard.

ive been blown off by too many shops to wanna spend money there anymore. the only place i will consider going is the new cove because they didnt try and rip me off like they probably could have.

The Northern here in PG has them ALL beat. You can go downstairs, buy an A-Line, head to the main floor and pick up your hunting or fishing licence, a toaster or a snowblower, then cruise upstairs and go crazy on a dishwasher or a living room set. No shop can beat that. :thepimp:

Mcbike should be closing for good on the 15th nov,I hear Rob will be selling bikes out of his empire board shop up on Domano blvd

Something had jammed into the calliper and they guy fixed it no problem. Steed is by far, my favorite shop for good service.

I've spent a lot of money at the Cove in the past 'cause it was a kewl place to go, but I could never seem to make a "connection" with the employes there. Everytime I go in, I have to reintroduce myself, remind them that I dropped enough coin to pay their lease payment, etc.
I don't like that.

At Steed Cycles, I'm always treated in a friendly manor, I like the work they do and especially like that fact that they put a lot of effort into making sure my bikes are ready to roll when I need to ride.
