i work in the caf... along with three friends, its pretty slack... you basically be nice to fellow employees, hook em up with shit.. and you'll be repaid with similar hookups

mark - working almost any resort is chill. give your lifties hookups and they will retrun the favors...same with the groomers..you would be surprised just how far a few hookups will go and get you a ride up in the cat for first tracks on the freshies

ok...anyways.
when i used to teach/patrol the first thing i would do is go up to the lifties and make friends with the new ones. same with the groomers. after some time, someone will ask someone else for a favor and then the exchange begins...
sometimes a cup of coffee is enough to make someone super happy...other times its as simple as giving someone line cuts...i used to take people up on the lifts with me all the time giving them line-cuts and that went really far. as a patrol though, there isnt much you dont have access to already...but as a ticket checker you can let their friends in for exchanges...
GET CREATIVE!!!
besides, if you cant get creative, you can always fall back on the reach around!

when i was a liftee up at Seymour i always used to let people cut thru the ski school line. i got some cheap ass food in the cafeteria and free board tuneups.

yeh.. for example.... someone asks for a rib burger with like bacon, cheese, and all the fixin's.... instead of marking it "rb" i put it in a hot dog foil, which saves them like 8 bucks

i worked as a lifty at cypress after graduating high school.i was close to alot of ticket checkers and it is a decent job to get if you want to take a break from thinking for a while, but you stand in the cold or rain or both for 8 hours a day asking to look at tickets from people that look at you funny.it is minimum wage and a long drive unless you live in north or west van.if you really want to work there insist on being a lifty much better job IMO.
