Yo! How are the boys of winter doing? The snow on the mountain are making me wanna hike up the mountain and get a head start on the season :). But before I can do, I need you guys to recommend a pair of boots. I am into the all mountain/freestyle say 40% of the time on moutain and 60% in the park.

I was checking out stuff on the 3W and its unbelievable to see that pair of boots from Vans or Northwave could be more expensive than my new 04 Rossignol Premier board ($200 CAD). So, before I take leap into a "real" boot any recommendation? Vans BFB? Northwave Freedome? Vans Danny Kass? anything thats comfortable to stand on and soft land, but yet responsive enough to carve up the mountain. How are those BOA systems? they scare me to hell, what if they break while you are riding? Cheers!

P.S. Setup- 2003 Rossi Proline + Tech9 MFM or 2004 Rossi Premier + Tech9 MFM

Well boots are the most important piece of equipment your gonna be rockin, so dont skimp out ;) . Also, go with whats comfortable, try on a few pairs, and see what works. Vans are quite good, as are higher end Northwaves. Also check out ThirtyTwo. I've had mine for awhile now and I love em!

Im pretty stoked on my 32's they just get so molded to your feet, the more you wear them the better they feel.

Another vote for 32's. Picked up my set of Lashed's a month ago. Most comfortable, unbelievably light boots I've ever worn, but man, quite a bit more than $CDN 200.

I would say don't be so hung up on spending more for a pair of boots than for a snowboard. Personally, I'd rather ride a cheap board than cheap boots.

My Vans lasted me a few years, but now I have some Burton Sabbaths and they are unreal. Can't remember the price though.

hahahaha yah and I just got a pair of 32, 304's and they are way more expensive than $200. At least it will always feel like i'm wearing just a pair of shoes from now on.

I know! These things are the lightest boots I've ever worn. Can't wait to try these out on the hikes. They seriously feel like sneakers.

Hey everyone thanks for the advice so far. I actually went out and tried a couple of the boots in stores including 32s, Vans, Northwave and Burton. Nothing fits my wide ass feet except for the Burton, which are way overpriced. I can't believe a pair of boots is gonna cost more than a snowboard.

Anyone own a pair Burton that they can recommend? I was eyeing the 04 Burton Sabbath or 05 Burton Ions (not likely at $500).
