I have 2 small, and i mean small cracks on the underside of the crown. Its not a new fork, so no warranty. Im not worried too much about it now, but i dont think it will take long for them to get worse. I ride only street and dj on that bike. I dont know wether to save up now and buy a flick, (ill have the money in a few weeks) or ride the dj or what. Wat would you do?

Aluminum fails catastrophically(sp?).
IMHO.....you can "keep an eye" on steel. But aluminum? when it goes, it'll GO.
It's your face.

dude, this is aluminum we are talking about...
It wont just bend like steel will. It will just snap clean in half when you least expect it....

And any fork will break/crack when subjected to those kinds of forces. It's not just Marzo. I wouldn't expect a Manitou to fare any better in those circumstances. I mean, I abused the living hell out of a 2002 DJ1 and never broke/cracked it, and so far as a read on thse boards they were supposed to be fairly notorious for that.

Dude fix that s--t. A broken fork can cripple you no problem.

think about this,

you do a dj set, you case it, your fork SNAPs, and you fall and flip and break your collar bone, thats mighty fun!,

save up for a stance, or run one of those old school forks if you have any,

you know whats gay, is when the disc tabs on your z.1 wedge break off, and you have 3 months of warrenty left on the first fork, you get you're new fork back, and it cracks, when you no longer have warrenty left.

so here i am stuck with a cracked dj3, and no money for a new fork.

i am sooooo close to getting a nice little bmx.

man just get a banshee rigid fork. thats what Im gonna get for the 4 hun.

STUPID FORKS less then 20 rides and winter rides mind you and mine had 2 cm long cracks. Your talking to a person who rode a 01 z5 regular qr for 2 and half years without any problems. I also ride bmx.

Marzocchi made a design mistake. Im thinking that someones gonna get owned and sue marzochhi for it or press for a recall. This happened to manitou a few years back on some sort of steerer issue on some cheap forks.

every person that I have seen with a 03 dj serious fork has cracks in their crown. I made a rant thread about this a LONG TIME ago I still cant believe crap like this hasent been recalled.

If you asked me, I'd say the cryofit process is flawed.

Because i dont want to spend more money on my bikes.

I cant decide between a 04 flick (i dont want 6 inches in a +), or a stance static.
