Just curious what you setup is for your Fox RC in different conditions. I used to have the Fox RL which only had rebound, but I am curious when you guys use the compression and the combination of the two. For example Freeride vs DH? Thanks!

heh i'd be interested in this too... mine has started bottoming out on drops that are 5+ feet
i have an 03 RC w/ 500lb spring
when I climb i slow it down all the way and it feels like a hardtail... then when its time to hit the trails, i turn it counter clockwise 2.5 to 3 full turns. If it starts to feel too springy off the lips on whistler or something i slow it down a half turn.
i've never messed with the blue knob

it al depends on your bike, and it leverage ratio, so what setting on your bike your running it in, if u have more then one. always start with sag. let say a bighit dh, 2.75 stroke 8 inches of travel. for dh 2.5 inches of sag not the sroke but the travel of the bike. play with spring rates. U want your suspenion to work but no work to hard. U should use all your suspenion, without bottoming out harshley. I rann a 500 on my bighit dh I ws 200lb no probs at all. felt amazing in all condtions. On my current right 2 step free ride I have a 550 on there. with about 2 inches of sag. once u get your sag down, play with the rebound. U can u the compression, but I left my open all the way with great results. Try it and see what works for u.
on a big leverage bikes like my super 8, I run 800 at 2" stroke and 8"
It did bottom harsh before but after getting custom valving, it rides great. It woudl ride much better with new bushings tho.

I'd use just enough rebound to keep the suspension active but not buck you off. Compression - I'd get the correct spring rate and leave the compression opened up as I believe it would be more prone to blowing. Only lock crank it up for climbs.

Assumming my PUSH'd RC is what they claim it does, I can now dial the compression to whatever I want w/o running the risk of blowing the shock.
Freeride: i think the speed of the bike is slower so rebound is slower as well. bigger hits, but slower. probably some pedalling as well so dialing the compression a few clicks may help.
DH: bike is moving faster (fast multiple hits) so u need the shock to return quicker to prevent packing. so rebound is faster but of course in control. i leave compression wide open.
Climbing: I usually don't touch anything coz i just don't bother, but if u want crank the compression all the way close to prevent compression. BUT remember to open it up on your way down or you really run the risk of breaking something in that shock. :D That's why i dnt bother coz i just may forget and (for me) the chance of that happening is large. Supposedly w/ PUSH'd I don't run that risk anymore... has a bypass valve or something.
