Paypal. Payment is instantaneous that way.
If you opt to go with personal check, make sure your bank clears it before shipping the bike.

a certified money order is your best and safest bet still.
I've used paypal from a guy in Oz without a hitch but that was just because its easier and faster. Also, paypal has a max 1000 payment level for non uber users I think. Or per day. Either way he had to make a few payments over a few days if I remember right.
If he's ok with a money order, take that route, let it clear and box it up.

Yes signing up for paypal is free, but the service is NOT free. You will deducted a certain amount of $$ as the person receiving the money depending on the amount of the money sent to you. If I were you I would go with certified money order, that way you only get charged bank fees. Another thing about using paypal is that you will need to attach a bank account in order to withdraw the money out of paypal which I am not personnally very keen on. But for some people its great. Instant money vs waiting in the mail.

Yea, I had someone who wanted me to ship some wheels COD to Nunavut. That's close enough to another country. The shipping alone would've costed $175. He was surprised when I said no.
It's standard procedure for buyer beware.
