Congrats on jump park progress. The pics I've seen of Calgary's stunt trails seem pretty good!

haha who knows what the cameraman was thinking?

and if this goes ahead, we will finally be able to build us some real quality dirt jumps because we'll have access to water and other things we need to build good jumps. it'll be good. and we've got a good solid core of solid dirt jumpers and builders too, so this park is gonna kick some serious ass

ya but it won't be built for a while. so much red tape to clear up i would be happy if it was up by 2004.

Awsome Dood! if only the Government here even acknowledged MTBing. But they dont often knock down jumps or trails. They cant be arsed, its to much work.

Good Luck Dood :fu:

How is it it "semi"....cuz you can see a mountain from there?

Thats exactly right! Well no... Calgary is in a valley and the majority of the city is in the flats of the valley but where I live it's only 30 seconds away from the valley hill so to me it's semi flat!

My city got a jump park. I love dirtjumping, ad rarely go there. Make sure you design it properly (enough run up, good layout, etc) My brother started working on a proposal about 2 years ago, and they finally put it in last May. How is it that they'll pay $200,000+ for a skatepark for the skaters, but we hafta make our park for free?

Fortunately, some other guys know some contractors, they got us a couple loads of dirt (poor quality) and a bobcat for free. They donated the land, and told us it had to be all tabletops. Sure no problem. Thing about tabletops, is EVERYONE goes to this new "Mountain Bike Park" and thinks they're hills to ride around/on/over. Every 2 or 3 times i go there (I go about once amonth maybe) I need to spend quite awhile maintaining the jumps. Everyone rides, noone repairs.

Maybe try and find a solution to that for your park?

solution:
They could all be tables if they had to be.. but you would have to clear the flat part of the table filled with nails and such;)

Hopefully we get some kind of park.. I cant wait.

if tables are needed, we will build beginner lines with tables...and then say screw tables and build gaps. haha.
