On monday i was told to write up an interview as a CAPP project. CAPP is a class our school makes us take to help us find out what we like. They tell us to take up a carreer in something we like and could see ourselves being happy doing for a long time. I like bikes, riding street and getting to know people, so I put those all together to help me with my interview project. I had just added Kyle scully to my msn list and i didnt know jack squat about him so i decided he would be a good candidate for an interview. ya.

Rftp:
lets start off with how old are you and where are you from?

Scully:
im kyle scully, age 16 from langley b.c.

Rftp:
how is the street scene out in langley?

Scully:
its really non-exsistant, there is a select few riders in langley that actually ride street. i mostly just ride with the boys out in poco

Rftp:
i see your most of your pictures are at walnut grove skatepark, do you ride there often?

Scully:
ya, i live only a few minutes ride away from it. it was the first park i ever rode in and im still finding new lines there today

Rftp:
how long would you say you've been riding street?

Scully:
like seriously riding street?

Rftp:
riding bicycles as well as serious street

Scully:
ive been riding mountain bikes for about 4 years and started riding alot of street about a year and a bit ago

Rftp:
what made you adopt street riding?

Scully:
well. theres a few reasons. the first one was living soo close to the skatepark so i could ride there alot, without having to get driven somewhere like the shore. Another reason would be is that i ride with alot of bmxers becuase there arnt many mtb street riders around here, i really like riding with bmxers, we feed off eachother.

Rftp:
:)

Rftp:
what do you do outside of mountain biking?

Scully:
alot of snowboarding, school, chillin, and the occasional x-treme scooter sesh

Rftp:
what was the first bike you ever owned?

Scully:
my first mtb was a giant atx 840. i was stoked on it...... until i broke 3 of them.

Rftp:
lets talk about your lucrative sponsorship dealings, who hooks you up?

Scully:
.243 racing has been great to me so far, Eric Fox is definently one of the nicest guys in the biz. recently i was hooked up by MRP, thanks to Eric Davies. also rockers, coming soon.....

Rftp:
speaking of rockers.. tell us about wordemup and how you're affiliated with them

Scully:
wordemup is a new production company founded by jesse roberts. a few months ago he put together a short demo of bike riding including gareth dyer, chris donahue, thomas vanderham and i. we are curently working on other non biking projects

Rftp:
whens that website gonna be updated?

Scully:
we've got alot of stuff going on right now (as always) but it should be updated soon

Rftp:
sweet

Rftp:
so whats the deal with the WTA anyway?

Scully:
hahahaha.... good question! sometimes im not sure myself, its just a bunch of guys that like to have some fun and ride bikes, oh and we're all kareoke superstars!

Rftp:
wta rules

Scully:
hahaha, thanks bro

Rftp:
tell us about your bicycle specs

Scully:
i ride a .243 bicycle with .243 components with mrp bones cranks and grind plate

Rftp:
what bike trick have you been working on lately?

Scully:
sprocket grinders!

Rftp:
who would you say has influenced your riding most?

Rftp:
it doesnt have to be one person

Scully:
hmm.... i'd have to say jesse, chris, sato and evan. i love riding with all these guys and ive learnt a bunch from each of them.

Rftp:
sato is the shit

Scully:
no doubt, i havent ridden with him in a while. i gotta give that man a call!

Rftp:
i recall you being stoked on the kylie minogue cd, what are you listening to now?

Scully:
im still stoked on kylie, who wouldnt be? right now im listening to alot of stuff..... i definently like the old micheal jackson stuff (thriller). jesse has just put together a really good mix, so i listen to that alot, hes quite the dj. dylan and i love having dance comps to the electronic music

Rftp:
dude you gotta tell me the song on the wordemup website! i gots to have it

Scully:
haha, sorry man, ive been meaning to ask jesse myself!

Rftp:
DAMN

Rftp:
ever met wade simmons?

Scully:
yup, hes a good man. i was chatting with him a while back at the COTG premier, he was still on his crutches and he seemed to be in good spirits.

Rftp:
if you could be any fruit or vegetable, what would you be and why?

Scully:
i would have to say a grapefruit because they're big and they have pink insides

Rftp:
okie

Rftp:
name 3 things only kyle scully knows about kyle scully

Scully:
1) i like to dance alot
2) im a rapper deep down inside
3) im a lover not a hater

Rftp:
what does the future hold for kyle scully

Scully:
i hope to have alot of bicycle fun and lots of robots in my future.

Rftp:
Shout outs?

Scully:
mom and pops, jesse, eric fox, mrp, donahue, wta, and all my other friends

Rftp:
thanks for sitting down and letting me interview you and best of luck with your knee healing and your bike riding.if youre ever in pomo id like to meet to you in person someday

Scully:
thanks bro!

Now that I know Kyle Skully rides for .243, I want one even more. I've always wanted one since I found out that Eric Fox also makes sex toys. True story.
