its kinda funny, I just got the ole "YOur going into a seedy part of town for your ride, and I don't want to get a call from the police" lecture from my dad.

Anyone else get similar lectures from any of your riding exploits?

as long as my mom doesn't see pictures of me she turns a blind eye to most things...i just put it really basic....say i'm going downtown to jump down stairs and ride on walls. they either don't care, don't realize, or just ignore. and then my dad when he see's stuff (used to race road bikes ) is like...hmm i think you need a spare rim...so he's really cool about biking and he even helps out sometimes when i need repairs.

oh ya i forgot the infamous "Don't get hurt!" EVERYTIME my mom says that to me, i go out and get hurt, but any other day and i'm fine, so i bitched at her one day to stop saying that, ever since then i've been pretty good as far as injuries go so it's all good! haha. silly parents.

and i've also been getting the "cut your hair" one as of late. they are embarrassed to be seen with me anywhere, and they want me to cut it or something. meh frankly i don't care. haha.

I had to cut my hair, but cause of grad photos was my moms main reason.

I used to get lectures about the freaks downtown and getting jacked (not put that way obviously) and I actually rode straight through east hastings twice coming back from seymore:rolleyes: lol, fastest and SKETCHIEST! way ever!! Man it smells wierd down there...


My mom is more into the full face helmet thing now, cuase I scraped my chin in the summer doin urban downtown and have a nasty scar:( now I am wearing it urban, dj etc even though its gay

i always get the speaches on nt spending so much mney on my bike and whatnot. biking is wht keeps me out of trouble. would they rather i sell mybike and go buy cocaine or other drugs like the other meatballs at my schoo?! as to riding in the city and cutting my hair i dont hear anything about. my parents grew up in the city and i havespent a lt of time there and im anal about having my hair short so its no big deal.

i know ALOT about the topic and i totaly blew my parents off!
My dads like i dont think this is the first time youve been messing around with pot and i just said yea i like to smoke it ocasianlly... and then my mom went on about how it eats my brain so i told her that she knew absolutley nothing about the topic and it is the THC that affects you and that its available over the counter in a synthetic form... and so on just blew em away because they knew nothing about the subject.. all they had was it eats your brain and my eyes looked glazed over

Big D, you may be right that pot doesn't have any immediate or possibly even long term effects...then again there seems to be a long term effect to almost anything these days. I think that your parents are just concerned that while you're enjoying your youth, you may get hurt in the process.

I personally wouldn't want my kids smoking, but I'm not against other kids smoking it....as long as they are responsible about it.

my mom swears i am on drugs and i always notice she has been looking through my room. and i have never even smoked pot EVER or any drugs. she says my room smells like drugs but itdoesnt even smell anything close to pot. its just has a strange odour from the combination of old food i cant find and my biking stuff
