Just saw that an ancient thread about Dark had been revived, thought I'd post an update here.

We're working crazy hours to get everything ready for InterBike. We're bringing a tonne of product there to sell. No frames for sale yet, but we're bringing three Scarabs down to help get the word out.

We' ll have our website up and running hopefully in the next couple weeks, along with a catalogue detailing all of our components.

If you're priviledged enough to be going to InterBike, come check us out, we've got a booth tucked way in the back.

Below are some pics that were taken for the catalogue. Enjoy!

what's your rationale for using a link setup? And is it just me or did the rear swingarm get a bit more complex?

I was quite impressed when i first saw your stuff, and i still say the pedals and bashrings are the perfect compliment to a full Diabolus kit.

Ryan,

Any plans for a similar but smaller travel ride? Like in the 4-5" range?

I need to start saving now, if you're going to. I love everything about the Scarab (well, ok, not the interrupted seat tube), but it's a bit more bike than I need :)

Hey guys, the frame weight is just under 12lbs, and that's with a Fox DHX 5.0 with a steel spring.

Some critical specs:

Head Angle = 66-67deg.
Chainstay = 17.7"
WheelBase = 45.25"
BB Height = 15"
Seat Tube = 17.5"
Hub is 12mm X 150mm
8.5" Rear wheel Travel

So, as you can see, the Scarab is on the smaller side of DH bikes. Many people seem to be worried that it's some huge stretch limo.

Me and my buddy switched bikes on a ride, he has a Norco Shore. Going back to the Scarab from a Shore was like going from a MTB to a BMX bike. It's really compact, and has gobs of standover clearance.

We'll have catalogues made up in a few weeks, and will distribute them to shops and folks who request one. There is currently a hardtail in the works. My next personal project will probably be on the BMX side of things: pegs, chain tensioners and other little bits. I'd love to do a BMX frame, and I'd like to do it in titanium. Ti is very resistant to grinding, it's also very expensive, hard to machine and weld, so we'll see.

RyanW: I apologize if the spelling sucks but I dislocated my shoulder yesterday, tendon damage, yadda yadda yadda...

However, I will buck up and say major props to you my man! That frame is looking absolutley unreal! The pedals, bash guards and stem are aswell looking not a scratch under SICK! Just a few comments and questions, bike kind of reminds me of a Balfa BB7 from years past. Not the same of course however it reminds me of one. Any relation to the Balfa when you came up with your design? The Scarab is definatley looking like a sick ride for '04... Any word on the price for the frameset? Aswell, would you guys be including a possible Ti spring instead of a steel? And colour options, ah yes the ah inspiring question... Are you guys stickin' with one colour or is there a choice of possible colours to be had?

Again, huge props on such a seamless, sick looking bike. Can hardly wait to see what you guys have in the future!
