Best article ever, LOL. Especially since I ride the big bike to work more often than not, leaving the sensible, full-rigid Kona commuter in the shed...man those Cascade Bike Club/commuter fuckers give me some dirty looks. One guy even tried to race me (I was on the sidewalk, meandering up fifth) on his road bike up this nice long hill. Not usually one for the commuter challenge, but this dumbass really just HAD to get to the crest first, so I stayed seated shifted down one, and beat his ass to the intersec and made him ride behind me on the flat for about 4 blocks...damn, I know I'm an asshole, but that shit was funny...

I used to toy w/ the commuters on Dexter all the time when I lived in Ballard. I'd just be rolling semi-casual and got tired of them busting ass to get ahead of me only to slow down 5 seconds later.
I finally began to wait until I could hear the huffing & puffing behind me or the creak of the bike and then raise the cadence/tempo.
