Order me up a Demo 8 Pro and an SX Trail right now.

Much as I hate sending money south, I can see the big red S owning the mtb universe pretty soon.

Is it just me or is retail on those things SUPER high?! $4300 CAN for the SX trail, Demo 9 is $4900. Demo 8 pro is $6300 CAN and the Demo 9 Pro is $7000, and youre still getting a swinger 4 -way, specialized hubs, specialized tires, XT rear derailleur, and other big S parts scattered all over. No Thanks, but ill be getting one of these instead:

Of course not, but compared to other bikes in the same league out there, they are priced quite high. The frames are super high quality, I understand. While Spefcialized put out awesome frames and OK parts, Norco is putting out Awesome parts and Average frames (Which is why most people get them... and warranty them). Devincis frames definatley dont have the detail the specializeds do, but they have a bomproof, simple design thats super light and they come with awesome parts. If they offered the SX trail frame only for 05 I would build one up for sure... But Ive been really happy with the devincis.

Team Specialized..... get on it !

yea those prices are steep considering the parts on it but i bet its mostly the fork that drives the price up cause its damn expensive

If no one pays retail on the $4300 Enudro SX then they don't pay retail retail on a $2800 Norco Six. I know the Specialized has a bit better components, but the extra $1500 isnt justified.

Specialized just lost a sale.

ya i thought u guys would be happy. i really like the sx trail but a little bit too price, my choice is the personally just get the demo9 pro frame. but what i would really like to see is a bit better components on the chromo p1. i love that frame but the components arent the best. i think they should make a p3 chromo, what do u guys think?

I notice the Big Hit fork is a "Manitou Stance Kingpin". That model is not mentioned on the Manitou site. Is it just a Slider with black stanchions?

Same frame(04 Comp/Expert, 05 Bighit), different shock stroke.

8.1" = 8.75" x 2.75"

7.5" = 8.75" x 2.5"

Small upgrade to get 8.1"s of travel out of the 05 Bighit... not bad for $2200 MSRP US.

The MSRP on the Demo 8 frame/bike is just brutal. Gouge away :)

$2800US(frame only) ~ $3600 CAN - 20% = $2880CAN + tax = no sale ;)

please don't compare a norco six to the SX trail. although i would agree 100% that norco offers excellent value, the specialized is not the same bike and that is reflected in the price

The US site has the prices, but you have to convert them.

The SX is a sexy machine, I had the pleasure of throwing a leg over one a few weeks ago. That said, I wont be turning in my big hit any time soon. The performance increase wasnt that signifigant over my old Big Hit comp.

a Swinger 4-way and in-houe brands for the Pro is just harsh. for like 4500, the Norco Shore has the same travel and better components, I think I know which ones a better deal

Sorry, no sale for any Demo's

^ :???: Euro bike maybe.

Also all bike prices should be going up this season. Aluminum is at a crazy high price, thanks to china buying it all up.

But you can find killer deals on spec stuff if you shop around. at a shop i know, you can get a demo 9 pro (two rings) for 2999 usd. thats 300 less than just a 05 frame and you get a bunch of parts. sell some of the stuff you dont like if your a whore like me and you get a pimped out ride for a sick deal compared to retail.

hehe, Giant's stay the same price because Giant has their own aluminum mine and factory

Well someone's gotta pay for the salaries of superstars like Berrecloth, Hunter, Strait, Tippie, Lunn, Romaniuk, etc.... not to mention the NSMB freeride team. ;)

Whatever... it's all perception of value and marketing.

It seems though that Specialized has a sweet rig for just about every style and price point. If you don't buy into the Demo hype or just can't afford one, look down the list and you'll find a pretty nice Big Hit at a very competitive price.

I would like to thank Specialized for giving one of those riders a team credit card this week for a filming roadtrip. If not for that card, we would have all been passed out, hotel-less, in a rainy Merritt ditch after a hard night of extreme karoake.

Buy more bighits.

I think you should go complete bike.

You can make a lot of money by selling parts brand new off a stock bike anyway. It would make sense IMO. You'd change to rear 24" rear anyway.
