I saw the Weyless XP in the Supergo cat last year and read a mountain bike mag article on it and thought it looked pretty good for the money ($529 usd) 5" travel, all mountain, single pivot, Heckler-looking thing w/ a 5th air shock. My '01 P.3 beats the hell outa me when I use it on long trail rides so I've been looking for an all-mountain frame for a while. Then it goes on sale for $399 w/ a seatpost and qr clamp. It's like buying a 5th element air shock and getting a free frame! I'll post a review on it after I get it, build it and ride it for a week. Welds look good, tubes look beefy.

Nice!

I read a review on it a year or so ago in one of the magazines (MBA maybe?). It scored very well. Congrats!

Laughter? Why?

It's a good looking bike and uses a very popular and succesful design.

Nothing wrong with it at all! You should be stoked.

Looks good Freddy. Just need to work in a beer opener like the Heckler.

What colour?

It's black w/ what they call a bead finish (prolly like a lumpy, flat black). Hope it's relatively strong cuz I plan on throwing it around like a vietnamese whore. But when it comes to flat drops, I'll just say no. Team Weyless, get on it! (joke)

Actually, I won't treat it any worse than if I shelled out for a Heckler. My shit's gotta last.

Have you seen the heckler for the past couple years? It's BEEF.

That's pretty much an XC/trail frame... I'd take care of it.

Oh i know a heckler's beefier, i just mean that even though i didn't pay much for it doesn't mean i'm gonna abuse the shit out of it. i know which trails require my big bike.

That Weyless is pretty much built for the same kind of riding the Heckler is.

It's actually a pretty beefy frame for the weight, I think it will hold up well.

I don't know, I've got friends with Hecklers, and though I've only seen pics of the Weyless, the Heckler doesn't seem to be any more "beef" than that bike is.

Should be fun! Looking forward to hearing more about it.

Corey, after reading your last post I went to Santa Cruz's site and brought up a pic of the Heckler and put it side by side with the XP and your right, the XP looks about as stout.

The top and bottom tube are extruded and fattened up to make one big tube when it meets w/ the headtube. The "X" brace at the shock mount looks pretty tough too. Weyless even copied the replaceable dropout/hanger.

Only a couple rides will really tell though. My other ride is a bullit so expect an unbiased opinion when I test 'er out.

I read that Supergo will replace the 03/04 for a 05 at no cost.

Yeah, not the same rig. The 67 looks like a great option for a newbie or budget rider though. That flat green looks way better than the orange/checker flag/weyless graphics from last year. Seems like Supergo's wising up to the idea that nobody wants a weyless sticker on thier frame.
