Hi

I'm interested in getting a hardtail that has somewhat trail-specific geometry (trail meaning north shore style trails), but I'd also like to avoid the hassle of dealing with a drivetrain system and use horizontal dropouts to setup a single speed drivetrain.

I've done a look around, and at first I was thinking something along the lines of a 125 with a sherman firefly or flick, but I figured it'd be a good idea to ask and see if anyone has any good suggestions for a frame/fork combo.

If at all possible I'd like it to be aluminum, and bonus points if its a norco, because I work at a shop and could probably wrangle a pretty sweet deal.

thanks

Matt

The obvious suggestion... .243

I would say Balfa Minuteman. Being the owner of one, I would say the slack headangle makes it a trail bike for sure.

Although it's steel as opposed to aluminum, but it is certainly more trail-oriented than a 125.

Why are you preferring aluminum?

i have an 02 250 frame and the rotor hits the caliper even when the wheel is only moved back a tiny bit. ps: of they two tensioners of had they both magically bend themselves and drop the chain a lot
