last few times up at whistler i've been breaking out the whips on the DM/Aline/Bx tables. I'm comfortable turning the bars to the right side, but feel super sketch when I go to the left. My buddy who i ride with the most is the exact opposite... he's a 'left whipper' We're both right handed... :???:

Which foot do you ride with forward vs your buddy?

Just bar turning, I go left, but I whip my back out to the left. On X-Ups I go to the right.

my dominant foot is left, so left foot forward, turn the bars to the right... tail goes left

yeah, so you are doing it the "right way", you just have to think about it as pushing the bike sideways with your back foot.

the wierd thing is, there is no intentional sideways pushing... just turning the bars seems to do it... in fact i can't just turn the bars and NOT have the rear move

are you sure?

with left foot fwd, when i turn the bars to the right right, the tail also goes to the right.

i also suck on the other side, it seems hard to learn the other side... but very necessary.

bar goes right, tail goes right.

But turning my bar, doesnt move my rear end. I have to do that with my legs.

usually people that ride right foot forward can whip to the right with the bars turned to the right. Obviously, left is opposite.

Whipping the other direction, like to the right with your left foot forward is trickier since you don't have a foot back there to push the rear end around

i can go left OK, but I suck on right-side hips

Im like that too but I whip better with my tail to the left still, spin to the left, and flatty to the left and right.
