Best feeling while on a bike to date, it can only be one and one situation.
Mine has to be when i hit the 3rd big gap on air supply, i had never gone so high off a jump and i just felt free and it made me want to go bigger and faster and crave more air.

Finally hitting the big GLC on Sunday, letting out a big WHOOP! then hitting it 7-8 more times, after going HUGE on multiple Dirt Merchant runs with my renewed confidence :D
Winning the neighbourhood bike race when I was 5: start at Daryl Philbrook's house, down Garrow drive, up to Foster, to the end of Foster, and back to Philbrook's. I fondly recall taking the lead on the slightly downhill corner to the home stretch. I won by at least 5 bike lengths, and kicked Daryl & Mike Scott's collective asses.

The first time airing a table on A-Line......only hearing the sound of the wind blowing through my helmet and the whizzzzz of the freewheel on my rear wheel.

A ride a few weeks ago on Burke on my hard tail. Nice, natural old-school trail on a wee bike.
It reminded me of how much fun riding is. A few good friends and a great trail on a super fun bike. Good times.

any ride where i get some sweet flow going and the trail just seems to ride itself... things just happen without any thought... I ride for this feeling. (getting air on A-line/DM is a close 2nd ;))
this only happens on the right trails, with the right mindset and right people. lately I have just been loving this wet weather riding, so that really helps to get into things...

Hitting the Clown shoes drop for the first time. I was by myself and just went for it after looking at it a couple times on different runs (it was still pretty new).
That and the time at the bar after the 2nd NS Ripper, I thought I did piss-poor and expected a bottom 10% placing, and ended up top 5 overall. The satisfaction was matched only by my disbelief.

waking up in a low rent hotel room after weeks of hammering out self supported mountain track, sleeping in my tent/dirt and eating single pot meals. I love that feeling, so tired your brain doesn't work right and all you want to do is spended a couple days consumming vast amounts of food and sleep. it's addicting.
the next best thing is looking at your gear all packed up, going over the check list one more time before the adventure begins...
riding bikes in any form is a pretty good feeling as well.

Congrats! That thing had been buggin me all season :P Felt good to finally nail it, and incorporate it into my regular line. Way easier than it looked, huh? :P The last run of the day I came at it with no speed after the 8 pack on the bikercross, peddled uphill to it, gears skipped, and hit it with no speed at all, and still cleared the wood tranny :D

that was my goal today at whistler...had the new ride so i told my self..."self,yer doin the big glc and i did"...let out a little weeeee and had a huge grin on my face,i landed it a little sideways but no prob i say next time i'll straighten it out...so the next time down that way i'm headin for it and i notice that buddy mtn. biker is standing at the top with his bike leaning against the tree there and i go..." hmm i hate it when people are standing right at a stunt(broke a bone in my elbow in march cuz some kid was standing at a rolldown on upper corkscrew)"but i kept goin and when i get to the crest of the hill of the big glc the FUCKER steps out to have a looksee at what i'm doing..so i kinda hesitate a bit and stay a little too far forward and didn't check enough speed(my fault i don't blame him) and land nose heavy but i land it...problem is i'm still too far forward and get tossed like your favorite salad over the bars for a bit of whistler style dirt dressing...kaboom.. roll.. crash.. see brand new orange 223dd flying through the air..stop finally...make sure i'm not broken(road rash only thanks to jay hoots body armour) call off the two people who came running off the glc deck to see if i was ok(thanks)bend over to pick up the broken thumb shifter off my bike and then see buddy mtn. biker come rolling down little glc and he just rolls right past me without even a shred of courtesy to ask if i was ok(i wasn't lookin for an apology cause i still realize that this whole dealio was my fault)the temptation to hurl a rock at his head left quickly as i realized i would only damage his helmet...end of story...what did i learn today...
1. progress sometimes comes with a price
2. the price sometimes tastes dirty yuk
3. orange mtn. bikes are tuff(not a scratch)
4. i'm just a little bit tuffer(lots of scratches but i'll be ridin on my next day off)
5. that big glc hasn't seen the last of me

Ive got 2 that are both pretty close.
One would be sticking a 12ish foot drop in Lake Cowichain. It was absolute butter on the hardtail. I was wearing a sleeveless shirt and shorts and having the cool wind blowing on you and the feeling of the run up (riding into nothingness) and then the ground dropping out from underneath you and reappearing a few seconds later and hardly even noticing it :D
http://www.members.shaw.ca/jarradastren/Pictures/JarradLCBigDrop1sm.jpg
Number two would be a few weeks ago at Mt. Washington. I went up with drunken_duncan and VanIsleguy in the pissing rain. It had been raining for a while and all the trails were pure mud. Well at the end of the day Matt and Ben packed 'er in and headed for the lodge but i headed up for another run. I remember like it was yesterday. Coming down the wizard, airing OFF the first wall, styling the following gapper, style off the drop, no hands off a few of the samller jumps near the top, everything was flowing and i was rippin fast. The whole time having mud and water flying into my face, the fact that i was soaked to the bone didnt matter. Oh man i cant wait to go back, days left - 4.

Linking together whole supersmooth boneyard runs this year, and flying down the bikercross hitting some of the steep lips so hard you bottom front and rear.
jumpin on the ladder to the tabel to hip to big box to the wallride and getting over the cracks is awesome, then down to the ending jump going way to fast and boosting as high as you can, and landing kinda flat. all with a little style, i had some dialed days at whitstler this year. ohh and the big hip stump jump on a line is probably my single favorite jump, just boost it and tweak it as hard as you can.
also i can go on and on, but the other day i got this big stair gap perfectly dialed on my llittle hardtail, it felt great.

I lost my front brake on the mountain last week but kept riding, stuck to runs I am good at initially...so muchflow and speed that day. Realized several things that day....knobs on a front tire help...and I use my brakes too much.
Another would be my first biggish drop. Heart pounding and neves just going. I hated air...now I just havea love hate relationship...

A night ride on Tiger Mtn. my 2 best buds & I had during the recent meteor showers.
No big drops, gaps or jumps. Just a 3 mile fireroad climb in the twilight...just enough daylight to get our lights and gear ready to rip. And rip we did. All 3 of us had helmet and bar mounted lights, so visibility was not an issue.
It was insane how well we could see the trail - the only thing I could relate it to was like being in a video game. All you saw was trail...no trees, no steep banks...nothing. We just flowed the life out of that trail that evening.
Halfway down, we stopped at a large clearing for about an hour and just laid back and watched the meteor showers. It was awesome being on a mountain away from the city on a clear evening as well...we couldn't have been in a better place!
But, the riding wasn't done. We still had a solid mile or so to assault and like before, the trail alone was illuminated and charged w/ energy.
The funny thing is that Tiger Mtn. is not one of my top-10 trails to ride. Sometimes you find euphoria in the least likely of places.

Hitting the Roller gap on Eagle for the first time. We just finished the tranny with the help of 5 other locals. We weren't too sure what was going to happen so I came in pretty fast, and boosted so high, cleared the tranny but still rolled out smooth. super fun.http://www.thefatboys.ca/gallery/tricities/afg

First night ride on Severed Dick. Climbing up was a grind, but since it was dark it wasn't as noticeable as during the day. Ride down was a rush, and (relatively) fast, with the shortened visibility making for ride more that was much more by feel.

It's not a huge achievment by the previous standards, but...
Cleaning at least 75% of Mel's/Nicole's and praising Trinity, for her help and her wings.
The feeling of adrenaline at the end was so amazing!

flying over this was sweet cause there were about 25-30 people parked and watching us session. Me and my friend just kept pushing each other bigger and bigger... it was a couple years ago but because of the rush of riding for an audience, its gotta be up there on my list.

My favorite moments are just as you roll down some steeeep gnarly old school decent and you feel so in control. It's like some zen oneness with the bike, picking the line, and sticking it perfectly. No skiddiing, no flailing, just smooth control.
As opposed to when you roll over the lip, hang one foot out, flail and spaz your way down like a big bag of potatos being ghost ridden down the hill. Feeling totally out of control and just hanging on for dear life and hoping for the best.

this reminds me of me very first night ride. back in the days of steel XC HT's and no travle forks, climbing up a few KM's of dubble track on a rainy foggy night then turning around and railing the steep roller coaster back down. flet like I was flying through a tunnle. thats up there as well.
synchro; could happen if theres a pre beer ride involved. maybe soon. P.S. my stories arn't that thet exciting, and as some one who has been through quite a few 10 hour cut block assults with me said of me not so long ago, "ignore him, he talks in riddles". he also told me on more then one occation "your such an ass, why does any one talk to you", topped only by "shut up... shut the fuck up. shut up".

everytime I pull a 360. they just feel so damn good coming around and landing. its so amazing, you go around, lok at the lip you just went off, then keep spinning and see the landing, then you land on it. just such a rush. the first time i landed one over a decent dirtjump was probably the best rush ever, but everytime i do one (which is pretty often) i gert another wicked rush. i cant wait to learn backflips, probably similar but even better!
