I just installed my new sherman firefly and was just riding around to make sure everything was working correctly. I tried the RTA and put it down to 90mm and now it won't go back to 130mm. Is this a hard problem to fix, or is it just an oil/air problem?

That's bizarre... usually if there's a problem with the travel adjust, it's the other way around. If something is broken, it usually stays in the 130mm setting.

Try unscrewing the adjuster knob at the top, and then putting it back on notched up higher than it was when you took it off. That'll allow you to turn it a bit more and that might help release it from the 90mm setting.

Yeah, I already tried that with no success. It pisses me off cause I just got the thing and its already broken.

You know that after you let it back to 130mm setting, you need to compress the fork before it goes back right?

I'm sure you're not stupid, but I always over look the simplest solution...

have u read your manual about how to use teh RTA ???

while its possible your forks' spring needs "reclocking' to get back to 130mm of travel its unlikely the fork is busted already...

but soemtimes shit happens...

if u cant figure it out head into your LBS and have em go over it...

I got the problem fixed. The tabs that hold the topout spring down to limit the travel were stuck out. Just needed a little lube and some love to get them working again. Thanks guys.
