you guys have some great and absolutely SICK riding up north of the border. Definitely a different type of riding than we have down here in Idaho, especially in the XC geek world of Boise, not too much for technical riding around here except in some of the secret forest trails.
The riding around Rossland last week was hot and humid, but it was still a blast. Rode just about all there was to ride on the Rossland trail map on the upper side of town and rode up to the start of Crown Point and rode about 150 yds and turned around, definitely wasn't expecting that amount of technicality for my old hardtail. Still a fun day though
Drove from Rossland to Nelson area and walked around town for a bit, dropped into Gericks and asked if they had any maps left for riding, no; went to the Patagucci outlet, same answer; went down the street to Sacred Ride and talked to Malcolm, didn't have any maps of Nelson except for their store copy taped to poster board, found out about some good rides, but didn't really want to go explore and get lost without a map.
Got a map from Malcolm of the New Denver area and rode there last Friday. Great riding network up there too guys, great work on the trails and map. Ended up doing a shuttle up to Sandon and rode 2km up Idaho Peak lookout rode and dropped trail 5 back to Three Forks, found it a little hard to figure out which was the right trail to take so I ended up down at an old (maybe still active) mine site and poked around looking for where the trail went to, rode back out the mine site and finally after a little searching found the right trail, FUN drop.
The only thing bad I noticed on the drop down 5 was that there was a bunch of fine filament fishing line and string strewn along the trail most likely maliciously to act as clothes liners and drivetrain eaters.....
I would still like to get a map of the Nelson trail network, but all the shops I went into told me the guy that produces the maps quit making them for some reason:???: :???: :???:
