pure gold! we got a full lap in before it started to drizzle...by the end of our second full lap it was starting to really come down...we were starting on our 3rd lap and it was pissing rain - an experience when riding that i forgot about!

the trails flooded quickly so we left after our 3rd lap...but it felt great to be in the rain again :) we went to a pub afterwards and just sat, had a few pints and watched the rain. what a day!

the trails were running well before the rain started and afterwards, they were running awesome!

ran into some familiar faces and into some new ones. what made the weekend great was showing someone around woodlot that hasnt been there before; its awesome to see someones eyes when they first experience something you have had available to you for years.

We got there when the rain was really coming down. Sat in the car for 10 minutes, and then said what the hell. Had a great ride down Platinum (I think). After 3 minutes, we couldn't get any wetter. First time there, but definitely not my last! Very nice flowy trails with lots of very nice work! I sure hope the logging doesn't take out too many trails. :(

Kudos to the trail builders.

heckler -

i know its not posted, but the builders have requested nobody ride platinum in the rain. so just keep that in mind next time you are there...kinda like cbc rules.

the logging wont take out trails...there is a thread about this someplace.

I miss the wood lot . I used to live out on 240th and rode Almost every day. Now I live in new west and Haven't been there in two years. I really miss the lot. On the other hand I never got out to the north shore then. But now I go there all the time:thepimp:

oh am i envious! i only get to ride there on weekends. i know if i could put in a daily or bi-daily woodlot trip, i would get so much better so much faster.

hanging out at the shore daily though...not to shabby either :D

Sorry 'bout the rain ride. We looked down the trail that starts lower down the powerlines (I think it's Krazy Carp.), and it had mud puddles all over the place, so we avoided it. Platinum wasn't too bad, except for the deep puddles I tried to jump over instead of through.

What trails are better there in the rain? We had driven to Hemlock from NV, and the chair was broken! After waiting there an hour, we had to ride (esp. after driving 2 hours for nothing), even though it was pouring. Next time I go to the 'lot, it'll be in the sunshine for sure!:fruit:

PS - is that a cloud? I was looking for a smily getting rained on.

Story of my weekends during the snowboard season. Those chairs have about 50% uptime hehehe

Pip said it was ok...j/k - he was pretty stoked.
This pub you mention, does the rumble of trains rock it every so often? Good spot!
Looking forward to my next ride(s) there - once I get my papers AND my bike in order.

There will be at least a few of them dry days before the monsoon season begins...maybe several?

If I lived on the right side of the border, I could see spending ALOT of time there.
