Dunno about Baker itself, but I know there's alot of areas around there ripe w/ singletrack (which I've yet to ride).
There's Galbraith Mtn. and a couple other areas that I've heard people talk about.
Wish I knew more, but I'd be lying to you if I said I did.
(this is the part of this thread where the Bellingham locals step in and help);)
Galbraith has lots of good technical singletrack. I ride there quite a bit. Theres some moderate North Shore stunts and things but a lot of the big stuff has been torn down in the last couple years by the logging company that owns the land. Lots of different trails in Bellinghan you can connect for some all day epics. Theres Snakeonia but good luck finding it. It has some pretty big (~15ft) drops and things on it. I haven't ridden it yet though. There might be some stuff in the Baker are a but I've never ridden up there and I don't think the ski area maintains any trails.

Galbraith is fun, but navigation is tricky. Been there twice, got lost twice, had fun twice
